None of the articles I posted after the twelfth have

a feed problem of some sort. So, I'm reposting the
ones that might be of interest. If, for some reason,
I'm mistaken, just ignore.

Mahoutsukai Sally was a sixties show. You've
probably seen a number of other shows from the
sixties too.

My video store has 8 Man on LD.
How about Tetsuan Atom?
Jungle Emperor?
Some others like Devilman, Lupin III, and Yamato
didn't show up until the early seventies.
Dare I mention Q-tey Honey over which we had the
little discussion about spelling. Speaking of spelling,
though, I really have no way of checking for the accuracy
of the above so there may be some mistakes.

The pre-1975 shows I list above I chose because I recall
people other than myself mentioning them on RAA or
RAA.misc.

I bet both you and some of our more knowledgeable readership
know more about the early anime than they might think.

< also,

< whether or not these are even rare, i don't know, but here we go:
< the stuff in parenthesis is our estimated english translation.
<
< -creamy mami

There have been a number of discussions. I'm not much
into the magical girls genre, so I haven't watched it much.
Creamy Mami is a girl, Morisawa Yuu, who transforms
into a singer, Mami. Because her father and mother own
a food stand called the Creamy Crepes, she is Creamy
Mami. She's got the usual entourage of magic cute creatures
and human friends.

< -majokko megu-chan (megu-chan the witch?)

I don't remember this discussed--competition between two
young witches to determine who will rule their magic realm.
For some reason, the competition is held on Earth.

< -hana no ko runrun (flower girl runrun)

I've never seen this discussed. I would have remembered
it. This was one of the shows on TV when I lived in
Japan (1979-1980).

< -maho tsukai sari (sally the witch-classic she says-)

I saw this a little over six months ago on German TV.
German TV has shown a number of anime shows that
to my knowledge have not been translated into English.
We had a short thread on RAA.misc on the subject.
This is a very old show--from the '60s I think.

< -maho tsukai raraberu (i'm noticing a witch theme here)

Magic user Lalabelle? This was another show on TV when
I was in Japan. I think it first broadcast in early 1980, because
I left shortly after it came on.

< -tokimeki tonight (tokimeki = when you see someone your heart goes all
< aflutter)
< (also happens
when
< you think of them)

Is this a hint? Story of an "ordinary??" girl whose mother
is a werewolf, father a vampire.

Is there some reason these are mostly older shows? Doesn't
your wife watch much any more? Tokimeki Tonight was
also early eighties. Creamy Mami is another 80's show.

< ---------robot section- names may or may not be whole titles she can't
< remember-
< -raidin (raidin was a robot)

Raidiin, perhaps, mid-70s

< -tosho daimos (brave fighter daimos-- another robot)

Just going off the air when I got to Japan. Show must have
finished airing in 79. The title is correct.

< -zanbot 3 (yet another robot)

Invincible Superman Zanbot 3 late '70s?

< -daitan 3 (robots robots robots)

That's not the exact title, it was longer. This was
another show airing in '79.

< -ideon (a huge robot)

Legendary Giant Ideon? Early 80s.

< -zabunguru (guess what he is)

Combat Mecha Xabunguru--early '80s

< -danbain (hey, me too)

Don't know about this one.

< -elugaimu (he's a tobor)

Nor this.

< -guranzoto (sounds like granzot)

Strike three!

< -saint seiya (my wife's first otaku-like fandom)

Late eighties--frequent topic on RAA

< SIDE NOTE they have a video game with most all of japan sunrise's
mecha
< anime characters
< (gundam, daimos, daitan3...) in it. it is on super famicom, i cant
play,
< though, it's too
< complicated for someone with no kanji knowledge.
< -does anyone here actually remember go ranger?
< -uchu
keiji
< gaban (space cop gaban?)
< -uchu
keiji
< shaider ( " " shaider)
< -uchu
keiji
< shariban ( " " shariban)
< well, that's all for now,
< oh, pardon this little stupidity from me, but just what the hell is
< samurai pizza cats, anyway?

Kyatto Ninden Teyandee as it is known in Japan.
Fairly frequent toopic on RAA and RAA.misc. Fox
has shown it in the US.

Maybe I'll think of the three I missed. Any hints?
You've been in my time-line for the most part.

Not at all! I'm impressed. You got the three I didn't know.

< < -tokimeki tonight (tokimeki = when you see someone your heart goes

< <(also happens when you think of them)
<

< Isn't this fairly recent? Another Shojo series?

There are many titles with 'tokimeki' in them. Very famous
right now is Tokimeki Memorial: Forever with You, the
Sega Saturn 'dating game' that took Japan by storm last
year. However, Tokimeki Tonight was a rather well known
show. I think it aired in '83, but I'm not sure. I do know
it was early eighties. Kind of an intriguing story concept.
It's about a girl who's the daughter of a vampire (father)
and werewolf mother--she hopes she's normal and outward
appearances say she is. However, there are disconcerting
incidents that suggest otherwise--the question is how
abnormal is she. Among other voice actresses who eventually
became well known, it featured a young Hara Eriko who
most of us know as Hiyama Hikaru from Kimagure Orange
Road.

[snip]
<
< That's enough! <G<

< < oh, pardon this little stupidity from me, but just what the hell is

called,

Kyatto Ninden Teyandee
There are some plays on words here, but that's for some other
time.

< but it's a Sunrise series (I think), part of the 'videogame-style'
anime
