Is it the first time they showed anime on that channel? I was
very perplexed. Please email me for details. (it's too explicit to tell here).
It looked more like a comedy (it doesn't take anything seriously). In fact
it was very funny.
I hope someone will clear things up (r u reading Enrique?:).

No, I'm pretty sure they've shown it before. It's possible it's the
same one. I remember seeing previews for adult anime for the Playboy
channel a year or two ago. I saw this preview and thought, "Oh great!
Now non-anime fans are going to think *ALL* anime is pornographic!"
It sure doesn't help our cause any.
So did you actually watch it? From the preview it looked ancient.
And don't tell me Streamline dubbed it! :)

Considering the number of Patlabor groupies out there, I would've
expected more scripts. But in any case, if there is some enterprising
translator out there dying for new material, I'm willing to send you
VHS tape copies of the Palabor OAVs (of everything in the box set,
actually - besides the OAVs there seem to be a lot of live-action
"making of" videos - I really only want scripts to the OAVs, but if
you want to translate the live action stuff too, far be it for me to
dissuade you! 8^) in exchange for scripts. And if I can persuade my
friend to subtitle these OAVs, you'll achieve fame too! Plus get free
copies of the finished result!
So c'mon! There should be at least one Patlabor fan out there who
would leap at the chance for FREE copies of the OAVs in exchange for
scripts, not to mention a shot at some gratitude from the anime
community (or Patlabor-watching portion thereof, at least). Please
E-mail me if you are interested. [Serious applicants only please; I
would hate to have to hunt you down with an elephant gun because you
just wanted to take advantage of my offer...]

I heard it was a good dubbing (This was out BEFORE Robotech was on TV,
according to the guy. ) All I know is that before Anime Took off in
America, and before probably anyone owned the rights to stuff (Except
Harmony Gold) Space Adventure Cobra... Dubbed, on the Playboy Channel.
Anyone else out there have copies? :)

by different animators ala Robotech. Pandora makes Wandering Kid look like Citizen Kane.
Prisoner> Well, I know that they used to show a LONG Time ago Dubbed Cobra
Prisoner> (Gee, I wonder what Terasawa would say to see his series on the
Prisoner> Playboy Channel...
Now I hate to break it to you, but the original pilot story for Cobra,
before the manga was done, appeared in Playboy magazine. I'm quite certain
Terasawa would approve.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the
shoulder of Orion. I've watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tanhauser
Gate. All those moments will be lost in time like tears in rain. Time to die.
