Well, in a surprising turn, the Sci Fi Channel took a break from the usual
ancient, black and white dreck it plays and ran "Lensman." I taped it
for later viewing. Can someone fill me in via mail about this film?
Thanks.

I would say that running Lensman is a perfect example of why this is
the Sci Fi Channel and not the SF Channel or the Science Fiction
Channel. From the point of view of a science fiction fan this film
is an abomination.

Supposedly, it is an adaptation of E.E. Smith's classic Lensmen series
but all that it retains from the original are the names of some of the
characters and the general plot situation. Most of what made the series
unique is gone.
