Grr. Can someone confirm who's Aoba Shigeru and who's Hyuuga
Makoto? I mean, can someone correctly connect the names to the guy
who has long hair and plays the guitar, and the other guy who has
short hair and wears glasses?

(IIRC, Shigeru's the guitar guy.)

This answer may be too late to be useful to you, but Shigeru is,
indeed, the guitar guy.
Now for _my_ question: what good could this knowledge possibly do you?
As I see it, Shigeru and Makoto might as well be Siamese twins
as far as the anime is concerned. ;)
