Hi everyone!!

There is a channel here in the Bay Area, KTSF 26, orcuding to my friend that
showed some REAL anime! Saturday night at 10:30, they showed Sailor Moon S
subbed!! Then tonight (Sunday), they showed this weird Anime called
"Sazea-san" or something weird like that.. Did anybody else see this, or
know if they are showing Anime permently? This would be so cool if it was,
but I have a felling that this was just a one weekend stand..

Later folks,
Ed Gorgen

I'm more than a little amazed that Sazae-san made it to America in any
shape or form...it was my understanding that it wasn't EVER going to come
here. It _is_ the longest running anime primetime show in Japan...since
1969 in fact. And if it hasn't made it here in all that time, I didn't
think it would ever get here. But then, I've also heard that it wouldn't
be well-received here, as it would have little to interest American
audiences.

Arghhh... Is this for real ? I'm going to bang my head against the wall if
this is true !!! I've send email to them b4 for asking them to show some
anime, and I never heard any announcement.

I didn't see it, and my two television schedules (TV GUIDE and STARSIGHT)
don't list it. However, KSTF came out a few months ago to do a story about
our anime club, so maybe they've started to take an interest.

For those outside of the SF Bay Area, KTSF 26 is an independent station
that shows mostly foreign programming. For Japanese programming, the
blocks are:

Saturday, 7:00-12:00pm
Fuji TV
Soap operas and a samurai series on Hideyoshi

Sunday, 7:00-10:00pm
Tokyo TV
Tsuiseki, NHK news, soap operas

To my knowledge, they have never shown any anime since adopting the
current format. I missed the entire Saturday block, so I can't vouch
for "Sailor Moon S" (but I doubt it), and I didn't notice "Sazae-san"
on Sunday. I'll pay more attention this weekend if I can...

Interesting. Never seen Sazae-san myself, but have wanted to. Will have
to check it out for myself this weekend. The only anime I've ever seen on
26 was like 15 years ago when I was flipping channels and spotted
something that appeared to be Shogun Warriors(it had Raydeen; sorry don't
know the giant mecha well enough to even know the Japanese version name)
in Chinese.

Sorry for rambling. Of course this could be some sort of ploy...

KTSF exec: Hey we went up a rating point on Saturday and Sunday night!
