Kaiyoushin thinks that the sword is the only thing that can kill buu
(considering buu sticks back together like the T-1000 once blown apart)

Buu is actually waiting to fight with Goten and Trunks, Gokuu seeing that they
are no match teaches them a way to fuse together (whatever Toriyama implies by
that)
