- Shin Seiki EVANGELION; aka Neon Genesis Evangelion [Eva]. TV.
Ep 9-12.
In and after Ep 9, the BGMs are finally more conspicuous.
We (my friends and I) still think the mecha designs (Angels) are ugly.
I wonder who's more popular at Shinji's school: Asuka or Misato?
(Hey, I want some Asuka photos too.) The last time Misato went to the
school, all the male students were crowded at the windows.
(Reminds me of, er, something that once happened at my LSC in
Hong Kong.)
They didn't show how the EVA-01 and EVA-02 ended up
half-buried feet-up in the ground and in the sea? Or how they
extracted the cockpits from underground and underwater, and thus
Asuka and Shinji (the images on the screens were labelled "15:42"
and "LIVE," so the EVAs' heads and necks should be in the ground
when they dug out Asuka and Shinji). Instead of construction
vehicles, Rei's EVA-00 could've pulled out the two EVAs. Maybe it's
too far from Tokyo-3, and Nerv doesn't have a long enough extension cord.
Despite the limited capabilities of the prototype Evangelion
EVA-00, why don't they choose Rei, instead of Asuka, as Shinji's
partner? Rei's obviously more compatible with Shinji than Rei.
(We're beginning to call Rei "Android Rei," after the Android
Mami ("An-chan" to the human Mami-chan) in Sotsugyou: Seira Victory.)
In "Magmadiver," Shinji should've let Asuka die!
Can some female Eva fan explain why Kaji is so attractive to
Asuka, Misato, _and_ Ritsuko?
Gendou's usual pose (sitting at his station in the NERV control
centre, with his arms propped up on the desktop and fingers laced in
front of his nose) is becoming as characteristic as Bright Noah's
[Gundam:TOS] usual pose (sitting at his station in the bridge of the
White Base, with his head tilted to one side, and speaking into his phone).
Misato changed the brand of beer she drinks to BOA in Ep 10. She
was at the First Impact, in Antarctica, 15 years ago in 2000 AD. She
has a scar between, er, on her chest. A friend joked maybe the 1st
Angel hit her with a Shoryuken.
Why did the characters stand in an empty train?
The 7th Angel exploded when it died, but none (or few?) of the
previous Angels exploded when they died.
The acid-dripping, spider-like Angel (forgot its number) sucks,
because the EVA-01's rifle actually penetrated it and kill it.
Will Asuka ever stop complaining about the Japanese lifestyle? (I
hope not.)
After the Angels struck Tokyo-3 so many times, its population
still aren't moving away by the trainloads?
Despite all the hi-tech equipment that NERV has, it doesn't have
a cleaning service or private washing machines for the NERV personnel?
Just checking: Comparing the JSDF ranks with the US armed forces,
is San-Sa a Major (O-4)?
The energy cage that the EVA-02 used to capture (X-COM
Abduction?) the Angel embryo: Is it Earthian technology, or is it
derived from the Angels' Absolute Terror Field (AT Field)?
Shouldn't the knife take longer than the EVA-02 to reach the
EVA-02's depth?

Nitpick: that incident was known as the Second Impact. You should
know this had you paid attention to the teacher's lecture during
episode 3.
So what is the First Impact? The meteor strike that supposedly
wiped out the dinosaur species. Bear in mind that the UN covered
up the Second Impact incident as "a meteor strike" at the South
Pole, and this explanation makes sense.

> After the Angels struck Tokyo-3 so many times, its population
>still aren't moving away by the trainloads?

They talk about moving away in episode 2. But when you consider
it, Tokyo-3 may be the *safest* place in the long run. Built around
the fortress model, Tokyo-3 has the means to fend off an Angel attack,
something you can't say of most cities around the world. I believe
they make a reference to the populace of Tokyo-3 being "cowards,"
living in Tokyo-3 to enjoy the protection.

I guess they don't want to mess with your personal dirty laundry
(pun intended).

I believe that humans haven't harnessed the AT Field technology yet.

Eva 0 was uder repair from episode #6, and did not come back until
Episode 12.

You don't want Rei in any other Eva other than 0, and you don't
want others in Eva 0, period. (check later episodes)

Beside, a pattern was forming, I now honestly think Shinji and
Asuka will end up as a pair, Rei and Touji possibley.

Think about Ryo fo city hunter, Kaji is quite a capable person
when he is serious.

to show respect to a senior rank officer who are present.

right off my mine the third Angels also self exploded.

apparently while dripping acid, the ATF was not on.

does your company you work for also provide a laundary service?
don't think so, NERV is a military organ. laundary is civil stuffs.

a third Lt or Commander? US rank only has 0 and junior rank. (2)

Eva 2 was going up.
Knife was "throw" down with a bigger kinnetic energy than Eva 2's
drifting down (by weight only, no velocity.)

Er, in the third ep, Misato tells Shinji to start by building up an AT
Field, then to destroy the Angel. Shinji instead goes back and does
his own "Aim. Pull Trigger" thingie... I think that the Eva units do
posess the ability to generate an ATF...

What I'd like to know is how they got the kids out with the Evas
stuck upside down... BTW I think they had their power cords while
fighting (actually I don't recall).

They can be programmed with each different pilot's data
(otherwise synchro doesn't work well). Shinji seemed to do ok without
program in the first and second eps. (but not spectacular or anything
^_^). Eva 0 is... different. Maybe it will work for Shinji now... I doubt
it. It seems to screw with anybody who gets into it for the first time,
but I could be wrong. Maybe it was Rei's fault.

Gaaah! I hope not. Besides the fact that I don't want Asuka
paired with anything but a ticking NN bomb, I think it would be better if
the pairing went: Asuka-Touji, Rei-Shinji.That way you'd at least get one
team that works well.

BTW Does it seem like the Angels have some kind of attraction for Shinji?
Is it explained at all later why Shinji saw Rei before he even
met her? It almost seems like they have some kind of mental connection.

They generate AT fields to block the Angel that drops out of the
sky in episode 12... Maybe they haven't harnessed it fully yet (if they
did, then why aren't they protecting the cities with it... then again, it
might be biologicaly based or something).

(Yes, I know there's no "Third Colonel" in the US armed forces, and I'm
familiar with the structure and Japanese names of the Japanese military

grade.) What did you mean by "US rank only has 0 and junior rank. (2)"?

Time between each episode is NOT fixed, there is a 2 weeks span
between episode #2 and #3, (Rei was well enough to come back to school)
read the script carefully, beside, it is their show, they can do what
they want, like taking Eva #0 out of the story for a long time, etc.

US navy rank goes two deep, private second class, first calss,
Lt. junior grade, Lt, Commander junior grade, commander, etc.

Pin-pon! ^_^ The only reliable way to destroy Angels is with a weapon that can
cancel their AT Field with one of its own. This is the raison d'etre for the
Eva's, which are basically artificial Angels: quite possibly based on human
genes modified to be more similar to the "genetic" pattern of the First or
Second Angel. See the end of eps. 15 and 16 for some disturbing hints about
the relationship between Eva and Angel. I find this all to be a REALLY neat
justification for the use of a humanoid weapon - so much more satisfying than
the usual giant robot show handwaving about "greater flexability and mobility".

Who are we talking about here? The woman who drinks like a fish
(can't remember her name here) "O-4" here in the US would be "Major" for the
Army/Air Force/Marines and "Lieutenant Commander" in the Navy. A "Captain"
in the Navy equates to a bird (O-6) "Colonel" in the Army.

"Nigecha, dame da!" - Ikari Shinji, Eva, Ep 1

- Shin Seiki Evangelion [Eva]. TV. Ep 13-16.
It'll be a hot day in Hades when Souryuu Asuka Langley doesn't
behave arrogantly, or gripe about Japanese life.
Misato returns to the initial brand of beer.
Shinji's being sent to the hospital so often they should give him
volume discounts. 8)
Gendou's second-in-command (Kouzou?) is like Spock. He's always
right behind Gendou.
The 11th Angel shows the Angels don't have to be giant monsters.
They can be biological computer viruses, glow in the dark, and still
have AT Fields.
The quirk that distinguishes the Angel that Shinji first
killed from the other exploding Angels is that Angel's explosion
is cross-shaped.
Lots of Post-It notes in the computer core.
Ep 14 is mostly flashbacks. Saves lots of new animations, but not
voice-overs.
Ep 15 is another slow episode of character developments and plot
advancements. Again, saves some new animations.
Does anyone have a transcript (in English or Nihongo) of Rei's
poetic monologue about dehumanisation, or of the radio programme? 8)
Does EVA-00 hate Gendou and Rei?
No ED song since Ep 15, but instrumental ED music. [960218]

But he also had a weapon which generated cross-shaped bursts. The angel

What about Rei's poem? As far as I'm concerned, that made the episode
