Okay, I'm currently building this thing, and I've not managed to break
any joint yet, but if you follow the instructions as provided by
Bandai this will certainly happen...

So some building tips are in order:

- If you're going to paint this kit, paint the less exposed bits
first, then assemble the sub-assemblies, then paint them, then
continue assembling, then finish painting.

- Assemble the wrists before painting.
- Assemble the upper arms before painting, but DO NOT attach the
shoulder armor yet.
- Assemble the elbow joints before painting.

All of these bits require a LOT of force to put them together,
especially the elbow joints. I wrecked the paint job on a few parts
due to this.

- Assemble the lower arms after painting the inside bits and the elbow
joint. Then paint them, and once the paint is dry, you can add the
wrist assemblies.

- Assemble the cockpit first, then paint it. The seat and pilot need
to be painted before adding them to the cockpit.
- Paint the inside of the front and rear upper body halves.
- Fit together the painted upper arms (without shoulder armor), the
cockpit, and the front and rear upper body halves and polycaps. Finish
painting these bits.

- The leg parts require painting on the inside before assembly, except
for the knee joint bit, which can be painted after assembling the two
halves and the two polycaps.
- The feet bits (toes) can be assembled before painting. Then paint
them, and assemble the feet. The feet can be added to the legs after
these have been assembled and painted.
- Watch the hoses on the legs. These are extremely fragile (I broke
one).
- Attach the legs to the waist before finishing the painting on the
outside of the upper legs, to prevent damage to the paint job.

- Fit together the waist before painting. Paint both the inside and
outside. The two washers that go onto the hip joints need to be
painted before assembly.

- The wings need to be detailed before assembly.
- The red wing covers/air intakes' insides need to be painted before
assembly. Wait with painting the outside until you've completely
assembled these parts.
- Paint the bits that are needed to keep the wings in place first, but
DO NOT put any paint on the tabs. Then attach the wings to the wing
covers. This requires a lot of force. Then add the other small bits,
except for the sword hilt. Then paint the red wing covers. Finally,
add the sword hilt.

- The only stickers that are worth using are the stickers for the
robot head eyes. The other bits provided as stickers will look better
by painting them on.
- I had to superglue both head halves together, to prevent the ball of
the neck ball joint from pushing the head halves apart.

- The sword hilt might require some reinforcing with superglue.

- The back cannons can best be completely assembled before attempting
any painting. Then paint the bits that need to be grey. Then add the
mount to each cannon. Finish painting.

- The hand-gun requires a bit of pre-assembly painting. Then assemble
it, and finish painting.

- Sometimes, flash might have to be removed, or parts need some
reinforcement with glue.

Hope this helps people.

some blank staring at the equally blank sky, thought:
<snip>

Some more:

- The handgun doesn't fit into the trigger hand correctly, because the
hand's too big. Some bits need to be cut off the hand.

- The neck assembly might be too wide for the hole in the chest where
it's supposed to come. Test fit, otherwise you might (like me) have to
remove a lot of excess material after painting the thing.

Thomas Hamann, but it looks niiiiiiiiiice!

You CAN get it to fit, it just takes a TON of patience... :)

I'll second this.

By the way, does your kit have a big ugly gap/seam/PC down at the bottom of the
neck? It's the only flaw on the whole kit.

After scraping off a lot of paint, I just cut off the offending
bits...

Yes. I tried pushing the head/neck asesembly further down, but it
wouldn't go any further. It does look like the head's too high,
especially when I compare it to the pictures in the instruction
sheet..

Yes...And, looking at all of the box pics, they hid this well. :P

I'm honestly thinking of grabbing the B-Club set just for the neck...
