The series "One Piece" is one of the more original series to come out
in a while, and one I'm sure will be very successful in Japan because
of the huge success of the manga.

For those who don't know, it's an action/adventure series with bits of
comedy mixed in, I described it before as Ruroni Kenshin but with
pirates, and I think it has a chance of becoming the "next" Ruroni
Kenshin over here if it is translated to anime well (more on that
later). Although, they actually aren't totally similar...Just in my
opinion, I like the manga a lot more than Kenshin, but that's just me.

======================================================
AIRDATE: Starts in October, Every Wednesday At 7 PM on FUJI TV
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

TAPE IT!!!

If you want to know more about it, read on:

I snagged some production sketches from the new Shonen Jump,
you can go look at them at:

Yes, that guy uses three swords at once. =)

Another thing I'm noticing, the art style of the artist has been
dumbed down a *little* tiny bit. But overall my hopes are up. Dumbing
down happens almost every time a comic is translated to animation. I
could name many many instances, one obvious one, look at the early
Simpsons and how much it changed after that. Sometimes it's just
because it's hard to draw in their style so you have to find more
adaptable curves and simpler faces. In this case, everything is
almost exactly the same, but the lines and general appearance is
cleaner.

Thanks for looking,

And the main character's name is Monkey D. ! !

Anyone remember the laughably poor Famicom RPG ' Super Monkey
Daibouken ' ? The namesake of which spawned Undernet's MunkeyD ?

<room is silent>

This must seem cool to *someone* who isn't me . . . ^^;;

Yes, I'm looking forward to the anime version of One Piece. It's my
current favorite manga right now. It's more popular manga in Shonen Jump
now, RK's popularity has slowed down a lot lately.
I expect the TV anime version will have high ratings too.
