Now that CardCaptor's off limits, Fushigi Anime's got a new series to
work on...

There are two fansubbers I've found subbing KareKano. One is Geofront, whose
fansub I saw at Otakon. Their webpage, at
http://members.tripod.com/geofront_ ) lists distributors.
The other is Fushigi Anime ( http://www.thegrid.net/fushigianime/ ). I
haven't seen their work on KareKano but I don't recall them ever messing a
fansub up. They're also accessible through Anipike (and they're open to
requests now! ^_^).
Both versions are well done- I know a lot of people were pissed off at
Geofront's Kodocha 17-20 translation but that IMO was an exception, not a
rule.

Hmm you never say their Slayers Try then.....

Well, their job on PSME movie is pretty damn bad too.
But there job on KareKano is much better; they got a good translator,
and the timing is better than most professional releases. They did an
amazing job of translating the flying kanji...

And a brave attempt at manga translation, McGuffins/translations/
Altoids. Zen's ultimate truth ? Possibly.

. . . in addition to an unlistable number of small nuances that
Fushigi Anime's verison doesn't have. FA generally has okay
translations, but their syntax can get odd somtimes, which makes much
more of an impact on a series that is based around a somwhat
convoluded teenage relationship than it would on, say, Card Captor
Sakura. Geofront's KareKano was the one used at Otakon ; the
translation and editing is flawless. ( And the ' Warning ' at the
beginning was great. ^_^ )
Yet another change in anime industry due to the Pokemon incident. One of
the reason why so many kids got sick was the way kids watched anime. They
tend to put their eyes at about 3 feet away from TV.
