Yawara TV Episode 90
Is mostly a story by Jigoro about a strong
American pupil and training partner from the
pre-WW II era.
Downloaded and watched it last night and
it was very funny as the two trade "tall tales"
also called outrageous lies. Sat here behind
the computer laughing my head off.

I just this minute finished watching episode 5 of "Tasugare Otome x
Amnesia", aka "Dusk Maiden of Amnesia". This has become the anime
series that I am most looking forward to watching every week, and I've
just moved it to "A++" on my rating list.

This week's episode was the School Festival, Obakeyashiki story which
featured a lot more of Kiria, but also had numerous incredibly good
and funny Yuuko parts. The girls looked great, the comic timing was
superb, and the animation was spectacular.

The anime continues to focus upon the parts of the manga that develop
the characters instead of going through the various mystery arcs. I
think that this is a very good idea because the anime has too few
episodes scheduled to be able to do both well.

In any event, I'm now fairly certain where the anime will end. Now, if
only the Blu-rays sell well enough to convince someone to do the
entire story line in a full year anime sometime in the future. One
never knows - the first week's sales for Nisemonogatari were
spectacular (in the 50K range), so maybe this series can grab the same
audience.

I've been watching the latest Crunchyroll streams. Last night I watched
Space Brothers, and Mysterious Girlfriend X.
In the latest episode of the latter, Akira gets to see the Girlfriend
suntanned and wearing a small bikini. Hot stuff.

Working my way through my stacks of unviewed and/or need notes taken
anime.

Just watched House of Five Leaves which I highly recommend. Next will
likely be Princess Jellyfish.

I've recently been watching C3... It's awesome! I added it to my "MUST
WATCH!" list after seeing a few episodes at an anime convention that
happened a few weeks ago.

Besides watching AdultSwim/Toonami and Saturday morning stuff on Cartoon Network and CW4Kids, I'm re-watching MushiShi. Each time I love it even more, definitely the most beautiful anime I've ever seen. Music is wonderful, and the overall story line sits well with my philosophy.

I added that series to a RightStuf order a while ago to get me over the
limit for free shipping. I guess I should get around to watching it <g>.

Top of my viewing list is five shows from the new season:
-SankaRea
-Accel World
-Tasogare Otome x Amnesia (Dusk Maiden of Amnesia)
-Korewa Zombie Desu ka? - of the Dead (Is This a Zombie? - of the Dead)
-Nazo no Kanojo X (Mysterious Girlfriend X)

Hoping to get caught up on Lupin III.

How much are you enjoying Accel World? I gave up after 5 episodes because
neither the characters nor the story seemed to be moving beyond a very basic
shounen-fighting-anime level.

There was a surprise betrayal amongst friends, and some intimate moments
between the main character Haruyuki and a couple of the girls, so it hasn't
been mostly fighting. In fact, while trying to level up Haruyuki they
avoided most of the battles and just concentrated on a couple. Kuroyukihime
has revealed her past and her intentions, so they are starting to introduce
some of the other major players. The red king is the girl with the red pony
tails from the intro, but the happy demeanor in the intro is only an act and
she's rather bitchy for someone so young. I hope the other characters are
more interesting, like the body guard that helped Haruyuki while his points
were very low (some intentional mystery with that character). Accel World
is not one of my top picks but I would rate it around C+ to B- and say that
there is potential in the story if they choose to explore the varying
personalities of the different faction leaders. That appears to be the
direction they're headed in, so I'm sticking with the series.

I've finally managed to get caught up on Lupin III and it's been very
enjoyable. Nice to get an adult oriented anime amongst the typical young
male offerings. I like that they are fleshing out the details of the plot
now and making more connections with some of the minor characters, like the
body guard and samurai. I'm looking forward to seeing how they tie all of
the loose ends together in the end.

There are only so many hours in a day... or in a decade.

I'm finally, just now, geting around to watching the original

Watching, on Hulu, ...

- Lupin III - The Woman Called Fujiko Mine
near season 1, episode 11 or 12.

After realizing that the series is full of presenting Fujiko as
sex object (in first 8 or so episodes), I am watching episodes
which have at least Goemon or Jigen. That is in hopes of finding
when & how the gang of three forms.

I did like that Inspector Zenigata is not a complete idiot.
Creators could have kept (sane, not-obsessed) Oscar for longer.

- Samurai 7
past (season 1) episode 12.

In dubbed version, I could not tolerate the sound of the toddler
girl. Unfamiliar Voices are much better in the subtitled
version, not that I can understand Japanese.

The worst thing is the use of 3-D objects (mecha) which do not
blend in with rest of the design, unlike Noein where 3-D things
seem to fit, more or less.

- Ai Yori Aoshi
past season 1, episode 3.

First two episodes were cringe inducing due to Aoi's subservient
role to Kaoru. After the 3d episode, I was wondering what else
there might be in the series.

Having read overview of the other episodes, A Y A seems to be a
hodgepodge of events in the life of a young couple.

Princess Jellyfish was far more appealing, let alone Chobits.

... I had started watching Samurai 7 on Funimation website (unpaid
account). After I could not get to the 10th episode (by clicking the
">|" button as I did past episode 4), I had stopped watching it for
some time. Then it occurred to me that Hulu could be more accommodating.
And it was.

Nonetheless, I would really prefer to download each video instead of
watching stream. I have to reload the page or stop & resume the stream
darn too many times to watch a freaking video in semi coherent way.
(Yes, problem could be the slow speed of Oceanic Time Warner
connection.)

Thanks Netflix, for keeping me sane by sending out DVDs.

Then again Oscar could not have gone sooner for his contempt for
Fujiko got old around the 4th episode.

Above read "sound" as "voice" please.

Let me amend the above that storyline of P J was coherent; the
story itself was off putting for the emphasis on make up that turned
things around.

Examples I would offer instead are Welcome to NHK; Suzuka (did not
care for extended length of Suzuka's contempt for Yamoto); and
Mongolian Chop Squad (relationship aspect was not the main story
though).

I agree that it's not a bad show. However, I always thought that it
deserved at least twice the number of episodes it had, to fill all the
gaps.
