CLAMP is now 20 years old. While the fifteenth year anniversary of
CLAMP was celebrated with the release of the Clamp no Kiseki sets
(which were a pain to find in the US. The first few sets were easy to
get but the later releases didn't seem to be as widely released and I
know scour every convention I go to, trying to find the last couple of
sets that I am missing). There doesn't seem to be anything like that
coming out for the twentieth anniversary but Dark Horse has picked up
the license for several CLAMP series that have previously been
published by Tokyopop and will rerelease them in 2010.

I picked up the Clover rerelease some time ago. I really enjoy the
new edition, especially since I never picked up the individual volumes
of Clover back when Tokyopop first released it. As I never picked up
Chobits when it first came out (I had read a friend's copy), I'll be
picking up the Dark Horse rerelease of Chobits.

Cardcaptor Sakura will be a bit of a decision for me. The original
six volumes by Tokyopop of CCS was just terrible (very low quality
printing) so I'll be glad to finally replace it. However, Tokyopop
had really upped their standards when they published the later six
volumes of the series so I really don't need to replace those volumes.

However, what I'd really like for the twentieth anniversary of CLAMP
is either a much better dub of CCS or someone to finally explain what
was going on in regards to xxxHolic and Tsubasa.

Or maybe they can finish X/1999?

Volumes 9, 11 and 12.

Of course, then the problem becomes cost. If I were willing to pay
very well for them, I could just buy them from eBay. Part of finding
them is either 1) having it be an adventure or 2) getting a good sale
on it (which could be considered of subset of number 1).

Of course, then the problem becomes 3) I'm clearly quite mad.

And I hit "Send" way too early and skipped replying to the rest of
your post.

Yeah, I don't see that happening. It's why I finally bought the
Clover book by Dark Horse*. I've given up on CLAMP ever finishing
their unfinished series.

* The back of the Dark Horse release says that the volumes includes
the complete Clover story. Since Clover is unfinished that's
impossible but I figure it's as complete as anyone will ever see so
why not pick it up?

I'll see whether they've got these when I'm by there tomorrow.

You're a collector. I know what it's like to want something I'm having
trouble finding... (Anybody got a spare "Onegai Teacher" Mizuho figure
where she's in her usual schoolteacher outfit and snacking on Pocky,
sorry, Pochy?)

Heh. I think I have some old b/w work from them in the old Animedia
mags from 1990 I collected. Ought to get them out again...

I got the last few I needed through Amazon's 3rd-party sellers, and they cost
under $20 each. New copies, too, still sealed in plastic. Just find the
specfic volume on Amazon and click the "Available from these sellers" link.

They've got two of #9, for $20 Canadian plus tax. (SD Miyuki-chan sure
is cute!) If you want me to get you one, drop me an email with your
postal address; robkelk -atsign- gmail -period- com gets mail to me.

I loved the DH release of Clover. It was a must have when I saw it.

I have the TP release, but have severl copies of the Japanese release. The
art work is just that much better. I hope DH will do as good of a job on it
as they did on Clover. Also a large format release would be great over the
small format that TP did.

I've been away on vacation since the second. I just got your message
today.
This is a really nice offer. Unfortunately, while I was away, I also
received a letter indicating just how much I owe in student loans. I
think I'm going to have to put off collecting until I have a job offer
for after I graduate in May.

Once again, thank you and I'm sorry that I wasn't able to get back to
you all week.

That's okay. The folks at the store mentioned that they've had those two
copies for a few years, so they might still have them in May. OTOH,
there's at least one convention that they usually attend as a dealer
between now and May...
