Way too much to count -- over 1000 tapes at least and about 15 LDs (no LD
player, though...) The collection is a mixture of fansub, commercial sub,
dub, and raw.

Over 100 videos, about only 10% of which are fansubs. The rest are US
commercial tapes. No LDs/DVDs yet.

Jeez! A thousand tapes...how long have you been collecting? I started
getting into anime probably around 1995. Since then, I have only bought about
30 or so tapes, about a third are in raw Japanese (even though I don't
understand much more than a few words/pharases yet), and most of the rest are
commercial subs, a few dubs, a pair of fansubs.

Probably about 50-75 tapes, mostly fansubbed.

Since just after Sailor Moon appeared in Canada in dub form -- that started
it for me, but Michiru was already into anime long before that with
Robotech.

Ours is a joint collection, which is why we've been able to accumulate so
much (two of us to put money into buying tapes, making trades, etc.) We've
also been _incredibly_ lucky -- it seems that whenever we've become
interested in any kind of anime, within a short time we've acquired the
episodes/manga/CDs/etc. Funny, though, after spending several years getting
all kinds of different anime, I find now that there are only a select few
that I re-watch over and over. Now I focus on collecting more to do with
those titles rather than anything and everything.

I stopped keeping track of my videotapes when I hit the 200 mark. ^_^;; Most
of them are commercial, and I have fansubs and a couple of raw tapes. Add to
that the 3 DVD's I've bought, and that's pretty much my collection.

39 tapes here, at the moment. One is a fansub, and two of them are
raw TV copies.

I'd have some DVDs and LDs if I could afford the players... I can't
afford any more titles at the moment as it is.

What you don't have in domestic LD, I make up for in my collection of over
100. I only have about 30 or so import LDs, but a dozen R2 DVDs.

As for VHS, I have some assorted subs that I got from closeouts or pawn
shops or the used bin at Blockbuster, but the only ones I've bought brand
new off the shelf at full price are Otaku No Video and the Tylor box set.
And about three dozen Japanese grocery store tapes of broadcast anime that
I got in Houston.

Christmas. Mostly fansubs, I can't afford commercial~_~

About 800 tapes. 52 DVD's. 32 R2 DVD's. 23 LD's

300 or so tapes are commercial.
350 or so are Fansub tapes (some are copies of commercial like Key the Metal
Idol which also counts to the R2 DVD count ^^;;)
150 about are in Raw Japanese (mainly shojo like Wedding Peach, Saint Tail,
Hana Yori Dango, Idol Densetsu Eriko, and Card Captor Sakura)

I'd have more, but I give tapes away to friends when I get tired of them like
Tenchi, Ranma and Evangelion. I guess if you want a total count of all of the
anime I have had it would be in the 2000 to 3000 range, but I'm not sure
totally since a lot of them were forgettable like Suchi Pai, some of them were
stolen like the Memories LD, and some I never got back from friends like the
Fushigi Yuugi fansubs which I'm replacing with the DVD's (I hope they do the
OVA's cuz I just remebered that I gave my friend the OVA tape too ^^;; )

Well, I have the game and a art book, but I remember watching an anime of it .
. . It wasn't that it was bad, just that, like I said, it was pretty
forgettable so I can't really give more details than that. Sorry ^^;;

Maybe someone else can give better details. It may just have been an
interactive anime like Dancing Blade was though.

I did count Dancing Blade to the 2000+ total BTW ^^;;

About 200 commercial tapes. Some of that is stuff that I don't care
about any more, like Tenchi, Ranma, all that junk. I am actually
trying to think of a way to get rid of it right now. I also have
lots of fansubs and raw anime, mostly shoujo titles
that are not available commercially.

I virtually stopped buying new anime about a year ago, and now
mostly buy manga. Shoujo. Lots of. ^__^;;

Some shoujo's like bad candy isn't it. You know you shouldn't eat so much, but
you do anyway. ^^;;

Then again, this is from a person who only heard of Hyper Police once and
decided to go out and buy the DVD box set because of two or three lines worth
of information. (I know that's not shoujo, but I had heard of Akazukin Chacha
so I have no excuse for that) ^^;;

Wow! I feel suddenly inadequate. I have 60 VHS tapes in total, all of

Well worth the money I spent on it. Heck, now that I've watched most of the
DVD's I know I would have paid double for them (I only paid $200 :)

The only problem is that their are 5 DVD's in the box with 5 eps each on it.
I've watched vol. 1-4 but I'm waiting to watch the last volume until I find out
if the series ends at 25 or if there is more. I don't want to sit there and
find out 25 ends on a killer cliff hanger . . . Like Akazukin Chacha ep 26!!!
Now I have to buy the second DVD box!!! Stupid Chacha dealers should warn
people about that! Now I know I'm going to buy the second box and it's going
to end on a cliff hanger and then I'll have to buy the third box, but at least
I'm expecting it this time instead of being het by a ton of bricks. :p

Back to Hyper Police. My fave character has to be Sakura. How many anime main
characters are there that get to eat the other main character and not be
considered *EVIL*. ^_^

I have about 110 tapes, three fourths commerical and the rest
fansubs........out of those, I'd say 80% are subs. The dubs are either
Tenchi Muyo, Giant Robo or stuff where I had no choice (like Ranma or

Oh god! You guys are sick!! And I'm getting there fast myself...

So far, I own about 60-70 anime tapes. I don't have any DVDs, since I
don't own a DVD player yet (blasphemous!). I have a handful of Sailor
Moon fansubs, 2 Evangelion Fansub tapes, 2 Escaflowne fansub tapes and
the rest are commercial titles. I want to sell about 5 of my titles to
my local anime video store, which buys pre-viewed anime tapes.

I only have a handful of manga. I collect Hiroaki Samura's Blade of the
Immortal (in TPB) , and I want to purchase some of Tezuka's Adolf.

Interesting topic... I think I'll throw in my 33 virtual cents...

I haven't counted how many video tapes I have for a while now, but I'm
filling up 7 of those Xerox paper boxes full of them. About 2/3 are
commercial, and 1/3 are fansubs.

I have about 25 LDs and 20 DVDs.

Another boxful of manga. Ah Megamisama, Taiho Shichauzo, basically
most of Fujishima's work... and some Kenichi Sonoda. I guess I can
count some Dark Horse manga/comics in with that box.

The pride and joy of my collection, imho, is the 3 100-count CD Trays
I have of various anime and jpop (5 of which, unfortunately are SM).

I've been at it since June/July of 1994.

Oh, manga- I forgot to get into that when I ifrst posted to this thread.

I've got- lessee...All 31 volumes of Slam Dunk in Korean (was a gift from my
cousin), about 12 volumes of Korean Dragon Ball (From Vegeta/Nappa to early
Cell)31 volumes of Ranma (10 Korean), two volumes of Ah Megamisama in
Korean, 9 volumes of 3x3 Eyes in Korean, 3 volumes of Korean Maison Ikkoku,
2 of Korean Ruroni Kenshin, 3 volumes of Evangelion in Korean, one volume of
Slayers, and one volume of Futaba-kun change- 92 in total. And that's not
including about 5 english GNs and more Dark Horse/Viz manga than I care to
count.

Arnold Kim
can't believe his manga collection now parallels his anime collection...
