G-Force or Eagle Riders

My daughter was watching Eagle Riders yesterday and said, 'Look dad. It's
got the same characters as G-Force."
Maybe the characters weren't the same, but they were awfully similar.
Anybody know what it is? Is it another Gatchaman re-edit or a sequel?

Yes. It's a combination of Gatch II and Gatch Fighter chopped to bits
like BotP.

Both. Gatchaman's first series was re-done as Ted Turner's G-Force (the
first eighty-five episodes, at least.) The sequel series, Gatchaman II
(an appropriate title, dontcha think?) and parts of the third sequel,
Gatchaman Fighter, have just been redone by Saban as "Eagle Riders".
Now, when the really interesting stuff starts to happen later, and she
says, "What happened to Joe?" come back and we'll tell you the gruesome
truth...

Ahh, that's the loss of Berg Katze you're feeling.. they broke the mold after
they made him.. Although he set the tone for hyperactive Leaders, no one
since has had his flair for silly mecha (obviously inspired by Ghostbusters'
"the world destroyed by a 50' marshmallow") or his fashion sense. Gel Sadra
(Mallanox) needs a better seamstress and Egobossler (?) looks like a walking
Mr. Happy button. Everyone since Katze seems to have followed the form
without understanding what prompted it in the first place. Oh.. what did
prompt it in the first place? We don't know.. that's what fanfiction
speculation is for :D

No. It's because, with Berg Katze dead and Gel Sadra clueless, they could
get away with looking better by comparison.
