"The Fantastic Mr. Fox" could be a monster hit when it goes into wide release
this weekend.

Strong hold for "A Christmas Carol" compared to its previous boxoffice.
A surprisingly strong hold also for "Astro Boy". Audiences seem warmer to that
movie now that it's out of the limelight.

"Evangelion 1.0: You are (Not) Alone" left boxoffices for DVD last week,
with a North American cume of $107,797. Not bad, a lot bigger release
schedule than I'd have expected from Funimation.

Now let's see how well "Planet 51" fares.

I believe the phrase is "word of mouth". "Astro Boy" may disappoint
the fans, but it is a perfectly fine film for everyone else who likes
animated movies.

I saw it yesterday. It takes the 1950's apart, reverses everything,
and puts the pieces back together again. Adults in the audience
enjoyed it.
