Mikado Ichiban, episode 6

[Eric Jones]

[Scene opens with the smiling face of a young female, in the regular
school uniform. She stares directly out from the screen.]

Female: No, sorry, I can't go to the dance with you, I've already
agreed to go with *sigh* Mikado!!

[The image blips, and a different female student appears on the
screen.]

Female #2: Oh no, I can't go with you, Mikado already asked me!

[the screen starts to blip rapidly, each time with the face of some
female saying "sorry", and then going on to the next person. After
about ten switches, the image changes to a side view of a wall.]

Phrank: [from off-screen] Damn!

[A fist punches into the wall, and the screen backs up to show
Phrank, looking very annnoyed, and then pained as he realizes how stupid
it is to bash skin against very hard solid objects.]

Phrank: What does a guy have to do to get a date around here?!

[scene fades to black, theme music starts playing.]

[An series of images flash (to the drum beat of the theme song) on
the screen: first one of Mikado, then one of Azusa, followed by a
group picture of Phrank, Josie, Mikami, and the Man wearing
sunglasses. It flashes one more time, showing a picture of Mikado
being hounded by a short, brown- haired girl as Chance looks on in
the background. It is replaced with a slow pan of Kolkhoz High
School, the sun sparkling in the background. Mikado skates by,
graceful and calm as a horde of females follow him. Josie is
cheering in the background, while Phank is sitting down, looking at
her wistfully. The scene changes to an ice rink, where Mikado and
Azusa are fighting against a large group of people. Noticeable
characters are Ranma, the man in sunglasses, and a boyish-looking
teenager wearing a jacket with the letters 'SC' emblazed on them.
Azusa breaks off from the fight to pick up a coin that was dropped on
the ice, and all of the skaters descend upon Mikado. This scene
ends, and the camera opens on Mikado posing. Azusa jumps onscreen,
hugging on to him tightly. The animation stops with Mikado trying to
get away from Azusa, who is pulling at the tie he is wearing. The
music stops, and the screen fades to black.]

Mikado Ichiban- Zembun Otoko!
Episode 6- "There can be only one? Mikado sees double!
[The Tale of Two Mikados, pt. 1]

[it looks like a regular day as the camera shows a view of Kolkhoz
high. A bell rings, and students start milling into the school. The
camera changes to a classroom door. It says: 'Class 4-a'. Inside, a
bored looking teacher is taking attendance.]

Teacher: Phrank? <hai>, Baka? <hai>, Josie? <hai!>, Mikado?
<silence> Mikado? [the teacher looks over to Mikado's desk,
which is empty, save for the daily present load from his
fan club.] Does anyone know where Mikado is?

Josie: I don't know where he went sensei, but he told me that he had
some important business to deal with...

[The teacher looks unimpressed, and makes a note on the attendance
sheet. The reaction from the female portion of the class is much more
sympathetic.]

Female #1: [sniffling] What, you mean that Mikado's left us?

Female #2: Mikado isn't here? [eyes water up]

Female #3: Wah!! Mikado musn't think we're good enough for him
anymore!

[Other females all around the room start crying. The males in the
class shake their heads at the general reaction of the females. The
camera cuts over to Phrank, who has an evil glint in his eye.]

Phrank: {Yes! With Mikado not around, I may actually be
able to get a date..}

[Phrank quickly slides up behind a random female, and embraces her.]

Phrank: [whispering into the girl's ear] You poor girl... Let me
console you in this time of need...

[The girl reacts with terror as Phrank holds on to her. She turns
around, grabbing Phrank by the shirt, and tosses him out the window.]

girl #2: Baka!

Baka: [jumps up and looks around] What? What'd I do this time? [sits down
quickly when he realizes that she wasn't talking to him. He mutters
something about his mother and her taste in names]

[Silence fills the room as the entire class looks out the window
where Phrank went. The teacher looks stunned for a moment, and then
turns to face the class.]

Teacher: Oookay. Now, if you'll all just open your books to page
26...

[Scene changes to an outside view of the school. All is quiet for a
moment, until Phrank falls down from the sky, connecting quite
gracelessly with the ground. He lies there for a few moments,
groaning in pain.]

Phrank: Ohh, maybe I should have been a little less subtle.....

[Phrank shuffles weakly to his feet, and looks around for a few
moments. He starts to head off twoards the school, but he hears a few
voices. He turns around, and creeps up towards a bush, peering
through it. What he sees is Mikado standing underneath a tree,
kissing a female student.]

Phrank: {*This* is his important business?}

[Phrank starts to walk through the bush, when a clicking noise is
heard. Phrank turns to see a small device with a red light on it,
which has just turned on. All of a sudden, Phrank is trapped in a
net, and dragged down to the ground, kicking and screaming. The
camera goes over to Mikado and the female he is kissing. The female
backs away, a little dazed, and stares over in the direction that
Phrank is.]

Female: Wh... What was that?

Mikado: [looks over at the bush, smiling a little smugly.] Nothing
you need be concerned about.. I have made precautions to
ensure that this moment would not be disturbed..

Female: [sighs happily] Oh Mikado, you're so wonderful!

Mikado: Yes, I am... [pushes the female away slowly] But you must
be off now, you can't miss too much of your class.

[The female nods, still in a daze, and skips off towards the school.
Mikado narrows his eyes, looking in the direction of the bush, and
walks over to it. He leans over, looking down at Phrank, who is
still struggling in the net.]

Mikado: [shaking his head] Ah, Phrank. How unfortunate of you to
get caught up in all this..

Phrank: [trying to push his arms through the net, pushing himself
towards Mikado] You lousy..! How do you think you can get
off like this, just ditching school so that you can kiss
more women than you already do?

Mikado: [sighs] I merely wish to give my fans the attention they so
well deserve.. And it's so much easier to do so on an
individual basis, as opposed to when they're in a giant
group..

Phrank: [his jaw drops, he looks stunned for a few moments] ...

Mikado: Ah, the never-ending expectations of the popular...
Sometimes it's just _so_ hard being me.

Phrank: [lights up] H.. Hey Mikado, I'll take your place any time!

Mikado: [laughs] Feh, as if you could Phrank. [smiles] Well, as fun
as it is watching you struggle, this is really all the time I
have for you. My next appointment is in five minutes, and I
really can't leave my fans waiting...

Phrank: [blinks] Well then, what are you going to do to me?

Mikado: Well, I can't just let you stick around, people might get to
thinking that you're a pervert of some kind... Although I
suppose that's not too far from the truth..

Prhank: Hey! What's that supposed to mean?

Mikado: Nothing you need to worry yourself with.. You have much more
pressing concerns, like where you're going to land...

Phrank: Now you're not making sense Mikado.. How the heck
can I land when I'm not even in the....

[at this point, the net Phrank was caught in launches Phrank like a
catapault launches a boulder, sending him off towards the school]

Phrank: [his voice trailing off] aaiiirrrrr....

Mikado: [shakes his head] Such a tragic youth... Oh well. [checks
his watch, and heads back to the tree, where a female is
waiting expectantly] Ah, Yuriko, how nice to see you...

[The scene changes to a class room. The students are falling asleep
as the teacher rants on excitedly on his topic.]

Teacher: So you see, under the properties of the chaos theory, we
can predict that just about anything that can happen, will
happen. No matter how improbable, just about any event can
and will occur!

Student: [looking out the window wistfully, and then curiously] Does
that like include people flying into buildings?

[The class laughs, and the teacher smiles slightly.]

Teacher: Well, that's a more improbable incident than most....

[*BOOM!*]

[at this point, Phrank has crashed through a window beside the
student who spoke up, flying through the class room, and colliding
with the wall beside the door. The teacher blinks a few times, and
then catches his breath.]

Teacher: Right. And there you have a perfect example of the chaos
theory at work!

[Phrank gets up from his little hole in the wall, looking around
weakly in confusion. His glasses have fallen off at some point, and
he looks stunningly like Mikado, although with a far less fashionable
wardrobe.]

Student #1: hey, isn't that....

Phrank: [looks around blearily] Ohh, where am I? [rubs his head,
still looking confused] ..Mikado...

Student #1: Hey, did you hear that? It is Mikado!

Student #2: Hey, I knew it! [rushes up to Phrank with a pad of
paper and a pen] Wow, could I have your autograph?

Phrank: Huh? What? I'm not...

Student #2: Eeee! He spoke to me! Oh please Mikado,
pllleeeeaaaassssee could I have your autograph?

Phrank: [backing away] Uhh, sorry, but not right now, I have, uh,
business to attend to.. Uh, jya! [zooms out of the class]

[The class is soon abuzz with talk about Mikado, people sounding
estatic with his visit. At the back of the classroom, a man wearing
a standard school uniform and sunglasses is looking very perterbed.]

sunglasses: {As always, Sanzenin refuses to stay out of my life....
How dare he invade my final domain, my homeroom, where I
am the class president?! [He gets up, an clears his
throat. Most of the students keep on talking] <spoken>
Excuse me... <louder> Excuse me! [They keep on talking,
and Ryuuken looks more and more agitated] HEY!!!
[everyone quiets up] Thank you. Now, I know a visit from
Mikado can be exciting, but we are in the middle of a
class here..

Student #3: Man Ryuuken, you can be so *boring*. Why don't you
lighten up? You're our class president, not our dictator!

[other students voice their agreement, and Ryuuken stares on,
shocked]

Ryuuken: {Now he has set my own classmates against me.... Can I have
no peace from you Sanzenin? [starts to glow] I won't
stand for this! [almost screaming] will you all just stop
talking about Mikado!?!

[The scene changes to a dazed and confused Phrank, only a few steps
away from the classroom he just left. He looks a little wobbly.]

Phrank: Ohh... Those guys must be more out of it than I am to
mistake me for Mikado. Only an idiot could make that kind of
connection...

[A blast comes from behind him, as the door to the classroom bursts
outward, and through the smoke, Ryuuken appears.]

Ryuuken: That was the last straw Sanzenin!!

Phrank: {speaking of which..} [smiles nervously] Umm, there must
be some kind of mistake here...

Ryuuken: No mistake! First you steal my title from me, and then
Azusa.. And now you've even taken my power over my
fellow classmates! Prepare to die!![he leaps forward,
screaming in rage]

Phrank: {Why me?}

[Phrank watches as Ryuuken decends on him, fist first. Ryuuken's
fist stops mere inches from Phrank, and he is suddenly yanked
backwards, and goes flying into a wall. Josie is standing between
the two of them. She dusts off her hands, and shakes her head.]

Josie: That Ryuuken just never knows when to quit, does he? I
figured you probably had something up your sleeve, but why
get your cute hands all messed up over something so
trivial, ne?

Phrank: [blinks twice, his face showing a blank expression.]
{Even Josie? What is this? Everyone thinks that I'm
Mikado..} [Straightens himself up, grinning just a little
mischeviously.] I wonder if I should just play along with
it... [Shakes his head, running his hands through his hair,
and then adjusts his shirt. Hedeepening his voice
slightly, trying to sound like Mikado] Yes, of course,
Josie. I had him right where I wanted him, until you
stepped in, of course. [Bows, and kisses Josie's hand
lightly.] Thank you very much for your help.

Josie: [blushing furiously] You... You're welcome Mikado! [Giggles]
Always the gentleman, ne? I'm sure you'll make some girl
realllly happy some day!

Phrank: [shrugs casually] Some day? [Gazing at Josie] I prefer not
to wait..

Josie: [Eyes wide, her face turning an ever darker shade of crimson.]
Wow, gee... Umm, uhh...

[Josie continues to babble incoherently for a few moments, blushing
madly while gazing at Phrank]

Phrank: {I can't believe that this is actually working!}

[As Phrank and Josie stand there, the school bell goes off, and
students pour out into the halls.]

Josie: [looking around.] Oh geez, I gotta class to get to! [smiles
shyly. [insert twinkly background] Jya ne Mikado-chan, I'll
catch you later... [runs off]

Phrank: Jya.. [Waves, and as she dissapears from sight, his face
falls] {If only she'd react like that to me normally...}

[Phrank continues to stare after Josie, obvlivious to the crowds of
people moving around him. A couple of students group up behind him,
pointing and whispering.]

whispering student 1: Hey, do you see that? It looks like Mikado's
been totally smitten...

[scene changes over to their view]

whispering student 2: Maybe he checked his reflection again?

whispering student 1: No way man, just check his line o' vision..
[points a finger up, lining it right up to
Josie.] I think the great playboy may have
finally found someone who cures him of his
flighty fickleness..

whispering student 3: [gasps] You mean... There might be availiable
women at this school?

whispering student 2: [awed at the thought] Too much to wish
for.....

[Back to Phrank. His mind exists in the real world once again, and
he sets up to go to classes. After going towards one room, he
pauses.]

Phrank: Damn, I can't go to my classes like this, and I don't know where
Mikado's classes are.... Hey, it's not like he's going to them
today anyways... [Evil glint in eyes] I wonder how he'd feel if
I gate-crashed his little kiss fest...

[Phrank walks off down the halls of the school. The trio of students
are still standing there plotting.]

whispering student 2: You know, it really is our responsibility to
nudge this potential relationship along...

whispering student 1: [grinning] Of course, for the sake of making a
perfect match...

whispering student 3: And of course, a match of Mikado and any one
person is a perfect one.

whispering student 1& 2: [in unison] Of course!

[All three of them laugh, and quickly stop, looking around as if to
see if they were being watched. No one is around, having all gotten
to their classes during this conversation.]

whispering student 3: So.. Any ideas on how to go about enhancing
this relationship?

Whispering student 1: No idea, man... I also don't know why we're
still whispering...

Ryuuken: [from off-screen] Perhpas it's because you don't want to be
heard?

[All 3 nod in agreement. Their faces then go blank with shock as
they realize none of them brought forth this idea. They turn to face
Ryuuken, who is leaning against a wall, his arms crossed. He is of
course a little scuffed from his last encounter with Josie.]

Student 3: Well, that was *supposed* to be the idea....

Ryuuken: [waving off any of the comments they are about to make]
Whatever. All I care about is your intentions, and believe
me, you aren't the only ones who would like to set Mikado up
with someone.. I've thought about it myself on many
occasions... [looks deep in thought] And you know, I
wouldn't mind trying again... [Turns around, and motions to
the group.] Follow me, we have much to do... [he walks off,
and the other 3 follow him. Scene fades to black.]

[Ad break. Cut scene- Phrank is on screen, with a female
turning her back to him. He flicks his glasses off, and the girl
turns around, jumping into his arms.]

[the screen goes black]

commentator: History has already happened, but still, many dream of
going back and changing the course of time to their favour. In the
year 2036, a being had such a dream, and the means to make it become
a reality.

[Cut to scene of Bulma from Dragonball, looking as she did in the
first episode]

Bulma: Wow, I have them all! I can't believe I did it all by
myself!!

[Scene fades to black, text appears: A HISTORY ALTERED]

[Cut forward a bit, Bulma is finishing a ritual, and a dragon
appears]

Dragon: Who dares wake me from my slumber? Tell me what you wish
for, and let me rest once more!

Bulma: I wish... [As she says this, an older version of Trunks
appears. He rushes forward] For the perfect man!

[Scene fades out, as it does, Trunks cries out 'Nooooo', which trails
off. Text appears: AND A WISH THAT SHOULDN'T HAVE BEEN MADE, WAS]

Dragon: It shall be done.

[Scene comes back in. Above Bulma, a light flashes. Suddenly,
Mikado appears, and drops into her arms.]

Mikado: What the?!

Bulma: [hearts in her eyes] Oh baby!

[Scene blacks out again. Text: A COUPLE FROM THE FUTURE IS
SEPARATED, BEFORE THEY EVER MET]

[scene cuts in. Trunks is talking to Mikado, while Bulma glomps onto
him.]

Trunks: I barely managed to come back this far.. The Overlord's done
this on purpose. I was the only one left that can stop him. But if
things go on like they are now, I'll have never been born!

[Scene blacks out again. Text: AND SO BEGINS A CROSSOVER THAT JUST
HAD TO HAPPEN]

THE FIRST MIKADO ICHIBAN MOVIE [well, sort of..]

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.......

[scene re-opens, outside again, with Mikado [or is it....] waiting
underneath the same tree. He is checking his watch, and looking at a
sheet of paper.]

Mikado: {Well, that's it for today, no one else is on the list..}
[smirks] {But then, there are always others...}

[Picks up a bag, and walks down a small path running alongside the
school. He checks his watch]

Mikado: Hmm, 4th period ended a few minutes ago.. I should at least
go to my skating practice. Koichi's been on my case enough
because of my loss to Furikan High.. Hmph, once I show
Koichi just how good I can skate, I'm sure he'll stop reaming
me about that ...incident.

[Scene cuts out, opens with a view of the rink right from the ice.
Everything has been repaired and is back to it's original pristine
self. A small sign can be seen at the entrance to the rink, which
reads: 'WARNING- any punching or destruction of the rink is stricktly
forbiden!'. As the beauty of this rink starts to sink in, Phrank's
head falls sideways onto the ice [presumably all of him does, but the
head is all that is visible], his face registering high on the pain
scale. The view rises, and we see Azusa blinking in confustion, and
Koichi in the stands, looking visibly frustrated.]

Koiichi: Sanzenin, that was pathetic! You call that a quad axel?
[sighs] Fine.. Let's try a 'twister special'!

Phrank: [getting up off the ice slowly and painfully] Ohhh, man...

Koichi: [shakes his head] I thought you were getting soft after that
loss to Furikan, but I had no idea it was this bad! Sanzenin,
if I don't see a perfect move here, it's another 20 laps of
the rink.... Forwards and backwards!

[Phrank cringes, and takes Azusa's hand in his.]

Koichi: Come on! Show me what you've got!

Azusa: [whispering to Mikado] What's wrong San-Chan?

Phrank: [whispering back] Let's just call it a bad day.. {Bad day,
more like a bad couple of minutes...} [Flashback!!!!]

[We see Phrank walking down the same hallway from before the break.
Suddenly, a boy with slicked back hair wearing a tuxedo grabs him.]

Boy: Goodness gracious Sanzenin! Were you flat out of fresly-pressed
clothes today? [Pointing at Phrank's rumpled, nowhere-near-as-
neat-and-perfect-as-Mikado's clothes.]

Phrank: Yeah, well y'see..

Boy: No buts Mikado! As president of the Kolkhoz fashion club, I
find it my duty to cure you of your problem!

[The boy grabs Phrank by the arm, dragging him into a changing booth
which was just brought in by two aides. The booth rattles a bit, and
you can hear little tidbits of conversation. 'Underoos? How
tacky!', 'Here, try this...', etc. Finally the booth stops shaking,
and Phrank walks out in a slick light blue tuxedo. Two girls rush
in, attacking his hair with a brush, comb, and hairspray. They step
back, and Phrank now looks almost exactly like Mikado [he doesn't
quite have that ego-enriched stance].

Boy: Much better! [Smiles at the camera, does a 'V' sign, and then
runs off with the aides.]

Phrank: [just standing there, blinking] {This school is crazier than
I thought.. Maybe I should just end this charade before I
get killed...

Azusa: [loudly] San-chan!! You're late for practice!!

[Azusa rollerblades by, scooping him up, and skates out of the
school.]

Phrank: {Right on time...}

[She bursts out the doors, heading towards the skating rink
facilities. She rushes out onto the rink. Koichi is standing
there, with his back to them.]

Koichi: [still turned away] It's about time you showed up. Kolkhoz
suffered a humiliating defeat, and it was all *your* fault!
[Turns around, pointing at Phrank. A smile creeps on his
face.] You keep saying you're so good Mikado, well you're
going to have to prove it to me today...

[A shot of Phrank's face, looking quite worried. It fades away, and
comes back to Phrank now. [End of flashback!]]

Koichi: MIKADO!!!!

[Phrank wakes up, looking over at Koichi.]

Phrank: {This has gone on for way too long...} Listen Koichi,
there's been a mistake here...

Koichi: [smirks] *A* mistake, Sanzenin? You must've lost count after
that last fall on your head.... Sanzenin, I know how good you
are, and more importantly, how good you *can* be. The problem
is, you don't push yourself enough. [a malicious smile creeps
onto his face] That's where I come in.. Let's see a 'twister
special', now!

[Azusa nods, and Phrank gets dragged along screaming as Azusa skates
around in a circle.]

Koichi: [screaming] Sanzenin you idiot! You're supposed to be leading
her!

[Phrank doesn't hear this comment, as he's too busy being dragged
along the ice. Azusa looks back at him curiously, and pulls him ahead
of her. Phrank manages to gain his footing and skate.]

Azusa: Are you ready San-chan?

Phrank:[nervously] Umm, yeah, just one question: what's a twister...

Azusa: [cutting Phrank off] Well then, here we go!!

[Azusa jumps into the air, grabbing hold of both of Phrank's hands.
Phrank just blinks in confusion.]

Azusa: [falling to the ground] San-chan, you're supposed to start
spinning!

Phrank: Oh! Right... {Here goes nothing.....}

[Phranks skates forward, and angles his skates to spin around. He
achieves about two revolutions before he loes his balance, and falls
over. He and Azusa collapse to the ground in a heap. Koichi slaps
his forehead, steam pouring out of his ears.]

Koichi: What in god's name was that Sanzenin? I ought to..

[His voice fades out as the camera closes up on Phrank and Azusa.
Azusa is on top of him, looking down into his face.]

Azusa: San-chan, that was sooooo kawaikune! [gazes into his eyes,
speaking softly] But at least you're not...

Phrank: [squirms underneath her] Uhhh huh.. [eyes dart left and
right] Umm, shouldn't we get up now?

Azusa: [eyes Mikado a bit more, and then frowns] I suppose so....

[Phrank and Azusa get up, and Koichi is storming out onto the ice]

Phrank: [starting to panic now] Now Koichi....

Koichi: [cutting Phrank off] I'VE HAD ENOUGH!!! [Grabs Phrank by the
collar, pulling him face to face with Koichi] Don't you have
any respect for this sport Sanzenin, or are you too busy
chasing after skirts?!?

Phrank: Hey, like I tried to tell you before..

Koichi: I don't want to hear it! If your performace hasn't improved
by tomorrow, I'm going to replace you as captain of the
skating team. Now... GO!! [pushes Phrank away]

[Phrank happily takes the opportunity, and zooms out of the skating
rink. After he's clear away from the rink, he stops to catch his
breath.]

Phrank: Man... And all I wanted was to get a date....

Ryuuken: Did you say date?

[Phrank looks up, and sees an unusually civil Ryuuken walking towards
him.]

Ryuuken: Sanzenin, I have just the thing for you...

[Walks off with Phrank, who's just too dazed n' confused at the
moment to do anything. They leave the scene, and Mikado appears, just
now getting up to the skating rink.]

Mikado: [checking his watch] I really am late for today's practice, I
hope Koichi's not too angry...

[Mikado walks into the rink, the camera stays outside. A few moments
later....]

Koichi: What are you doing here Sanzenin? I told you to stay away
until tomorrow!!! [the force of this speech blowing doors open
and rustling trees in the background.]

[Mikado walks out of the rink, his hair a mess, and a completely
bewildered look on his face.]

Mikado: [blinks] I didn't think he'd take it that badly..

Josie: [from offscreen] Oh Sanzenin...

[Mikado looks up, still somewhat confused, and sees Josie.]

Josie: [very cutesy and flowerly-like] Mikado, I'm so happy to see
you got out early today...

Mikado: [obvlivious to there being anything out of the ordinary] Uhh,
yeah. Practice finished a little early today, for some
reason..

Josie: That's good, because I was hoping we could have a little time to
talk together.

Mikado: [coming out of his confusion a bit] Certainly. I'm always
glad to spend time with you Josie.. [Pulls out a comb, and
brushes his hair back.] What is it you wanted to talk about?

Josie: Oh nothing, just you and me, and our ..friendship..

Mikado: [blinking] Oh?

Josie: Yeah, I was thinking about what you said earlier..

Mikado: [shakes his head a bit] What I said earlier?

Josie: [nods] Right. And you know, I'd prefer not to wait either..

[Josie jumps into Mikado's arms, Mikado gets an even more bewildered
look on his face.]

Mikado: *What* did I say earlier?

[Cut scene, we go back to Ryuuken and Phrank. They are sitting in a
room somewhere, along with the three boys from earlier. Ryuuken is
shaking his head.]

Ryuuken: Incredible. I never noticed the similarity before..

Phrank: Then.. You actually believe me?

Ryuuken: Of course Phrank. Mikado'd never be intelligent enough to
come up with such an elaborate rouse. Besides, what purpose
would it serve him to pretend to be a lesser person than he
is?

Phrank: Hey!

Student #1: Man, that's lame... We won't be able to set Mikado up
after all.

Student #2: Really was too good to be true.

Ryuuken: It's not a lost cause yet... [grins] I already made sure that
Josie got a love letter from her 'sweetest love, Mikado'...

[The three students grin, Phrank frowns slightly.]

Phrank: I dunno about that, she's too smart to fall for a fake love
letter... [Thought] I hope...

Student #3: [whispering to the other students] Oh waitasec, this
means that Phrank was the one that was scoping Josie so
obcessively...

Student #2: Mmmm. And we're trying to set her up with Mikado... A terrible
tragedy.

Student #1: But if it serves the greater good... [Smiles, the other
two nod.]

Ryuuken: [hushing the students, and talking to Phrank.] I'm sorry
things won't go as you'd like them to, but just think of all the
other availiable women...

Phrank: If it works...

Ryuuken: Oh, but it will... Especially with the added problem of his
losing status at the same time..

Phrank: Huh?

Ryuuken: Oh come on Phrank.. The way you set up Koichi? If 'Mikado'
screws up tomorrow, he's going to be dropped from the team..
Down the tubes with his popularity right there. And someone
else will have to become the skating club's captain... [Goes
doe-eyed, not that you can really notice with those
sunglasses on] And become Azusa's partner...

Phrank: Yeah, but how is Mikado going to screw up tomorrow?

Ryuuken: You are so dense, my friend. He's not going to screw up..
*You* are..

Phrank: Um... And why would I wanna do that?

Ryuuken: Because it will finally destroy him!

Phrank: This is nuts. I don't care about that, I just want a
date! ..With Josie..

Ryuuken: [balls his hands into very daunting fists] If you want a
better reason, I can accomodate you quite easily...

[Phrank goes bug-eyed, as Ryuuken and the three students circle him.
Cut scene.]

[Ad break. The cut scene is the same as before.]

[Screen fades to black again. Text fades in: AN IMPOSSIBLE MISSION]

[scene fades in, Trunks is holding Mikado by the lapel of his
jacket.]

Trunks: The future as we, err, I know it, depends on us. We've got
to retrieve the dragonballs!

Mikado: The what?

[Text: AN UNLIKELY PARTNERSHIP]

[scene cuts in. The Kunou household. Tatewaki stands in front of a
dusty Mikado and Trunks. One of the dragonballs sits in a glass case
behind him.]

Kunou: Fear not, for I, Tatewaki Kunou, Blue Thunder of Furinkan
High, and rising star of the kendo club, shall help you in your
quest! [Kunoh poses as lightning flashes in the background]

Trunks: [aside to Mikado] Maybe we should just beat the dragonball
out of him.

[Text: THREE MEN... THREE DREAMS]

[a scene of the three of them smiling at each other.]

Trunks: {Once we get the dragonballs, we can set things
right again...}

Mikado: {If I wish to become one of these super-saiyajins, I
shall have enough power to crush that infidel Saotome, and be able to
show this guy up to boot...}

Kunou: {Oh pony-tailed girl, Akane.. I shall free you from
the clutches of that black sorcerer Ranma, and you shall be safe in
my arms!!

[Text: THE FUTURE OF EARTH, THE UNIVERSE, IS IN THEIR HANDS]

[scene opens. Kunou is facing some alien being who is holding a
dragonball.]

Kunou: Prepare to meet your doom, you cur! I am Tatewaki Kunou, and
you shall feel my wrath! Fear your fate, for am invincible, I
feel no pain! [The alien fires a bolt at him, Kunou becomes
completely charred. Sasuke rushes up to him.]

Sasuke: Some bactine, master?

Mikado: [said while dodging other bolts] I know I'm impressed..

[Screen fades out, text: WE'RE IN A LOT OF TROUBLE]

BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU WISH FOR.......

[screen fades in. The scene is the inside of a school washroom.
Mikado is pacing the floor, talking to himself.]

Mikado: This is too odd... Koichi's freaking at me, Chance is nowhere to be
seen, and Josie seems to have fallen for me. [Pauses.] Hmm, perhaps
it's not a total loss.. [Shakes his head] Nononono.. Somebody must
be impersonating me. But who? Who is there could possibly match
my god-given beauty?

[Cut to the hallway. Phrank is creeping down the hallway, looking
every which way nervously.]

Phrank: {Oh man, now I have to keep this up another day, or
Ryuuken'll kill me. But I can't just let him match Josie up with
Mikado.. Jeez, this day just couldn't get any worse.. [Walks
into the bathroom.]

[Back inside. Mikado sighs, and rests his head against the sink. His
eyes open in surprise, and he looks up in the mirror, and sees two
reflections of himself. He quickly pivots around, and leaps at
Phrank.]

Mikado: You! What evil are you trying to cause?

[Mikado slams into Phrank, pinning him against the wall.]

Mikado: [blinks] And how did you get my best tuxedo?

Phrank: Heh, hey, Mikado, good to see you...

Mikado: [frowns, narrowing his eyes] I think an explanation is in order.

Phrank: Yeah, yeah, an explanation... Well, it's me, Phrank.

Mikado: Hmm? [Looks at Phrank more closely. Peers at him for a
while, and stands back in shock.] Phrank, how did you come up
with such a convincing guise?

Phrank: Um, my glasses fell off?

Mikado: Your glasses.. Fell off... [Mikado twitches, thinking to
himself] That's it?

Phrank: Mik, you gotta listen to me, this is all a really big
mistake..

Mikado: [rubbing his temples] Do tell. And hopefully you're about to
tell me that it's going to be solved?

Phrank: Umm, actually, along the way.. [Talking in a desperate,
trying-to-convince tone] Heh, this is kinda funny.. Well
Ryuuken caught wind of it all.. [Pauses to laugh a bit] And
now.. He's trying to hatch some plot to destroy your
reputation, and set you up with Josie to boot! [Laughs some
more, but stops after he realizes Mikado isn't falling for it
at all.]

Mikado: [a look of unbelieveing shock on his face] And that's
supposed to be amuse me?

Phrank: Err, just hoping to distract you from the obvious decision to
pummel me. [Takes a step back ] It doesn't look like it
worked.

[Mikado rolls his eyes, and grins]

Mikado: And how would I figure out what this plan of Ryuuken's is if
I did that? [The grin gets a rather icy, nasty quirk to it]
You are going to tell me, aren't you?

[Cringing back, Phrank manages a nod]

Mikado: Good. Now, fill me in on this plan, so I can think of a way
to destroy it...

------------------------------------------------------------------

[Scene fades to black, cuts to commercial. When the show comes back
on, the credits roll. Mikado is roller-blading along a road, images
of all the other characters from the show fading in and out. Time
passes, and the sky slowly gets darker as he skates along. As the song
comes to a close, Mikado stops skating, and stares out across a bay, moon
reflecting off the water. The camera rises to the stars, showing the
show's logo in the stars.]
