"Planet 51"'s $12M first weekend looks lukewarm on face. But in it's
favor, its opening is double the opening of "Astro Boy", which is likely to
pass this holiday weekend. Further, I suspect this movie didn't cost all that
much to make. Against its favor, though, was "Planet 51"'s complete
annihilation by critics.

I still think "Planet 51" will have a decent Thanksgiving weekend boxoffice,
along with "A Christmas Carol". And "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" finally opens
wide. Let's see if the positive hype delivers.
