Animated spinoff Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous headed to Netflix
------------------------------------------------------------------
Netflix is giving viewers a whole new way to experience the wonders
of Jurassic Park from the comfort of your living room. The
streaming service has teamed with DreamWorks Animation for Jurassic
World: Camp Cretaceous, an animated action-adventure series, is set
to debut sometime in 2020

The series is set within the same timeline as the 2015's Jurassic
World, Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous follows a group of teenagers
chosen for a once-in-a-lifetime experience at a new adventure camp
on the opposite side of Isla Nublar. Of course, the dinosaurs wreak
havoc across the island, leaving the campers stranded. Unable to
reach the outside world, they'll need to go from strangers to
friends to family if they're going to survive.

Scott Kreamer (Pinky Malinky) and Lane Lueras (Kung Fu Panda: The
Paws of Destiny) will serve as showrunners and executive producers.
Steven Spielberg, Frank Marshall, and Colin Trevorrow will also
executive produce, with Zack Stentz serves as consulting producer.

DreamWorks Animation has had 18 original series debut Netflix,
including the Tales of Arcadia trilogy from Guillermo del Toro,
She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, and The Boss Baby: Back in
Business. The studio also has a number of additional series slated
to debut on Netflix this year, including Archibald's Next Big Thing
and the highly anticipated Fast & Furious animated series.

Meanwhile, the third installment in the Jurassic World series hits
theaters on June 11, 2021, possibly with the original Jurassic Park
leads along for the ride.

Teaser Trailer: (43secs)

The teaser trailer uses realistic CGI dinosaur, but the poster shows a
more cartoony style:

I'm not sure why a young Tintin (far-left character) is visiting
Jurassic World though. ;-)

I had a similar thought. It seems like a terrible idea.
