The Kojo Nnami Show interviewed the writer/director of Waltz with
Bashir, Ari Folman, on 12/11/08. A podcast will be available for
another cuple of days, but may still be available for a month
afterwards:

Terrence Briggs, catching up with Delgo before it's kicked to the
curb. Who doesn't want to see the lowest-grossing film of all
time? :-)

Peace to you...

Actually, like "Meet the Robinsons", it's not "the Revival of Disney
animation"--That's not officially scheduled till '09 yet, not counting
that Goofy thing.
At the moment, like "Meet the Robinsons", we're still on the "the
Rehabilitated Reclamation, Salvaging, Retooling, and/or Burying of old
half-baked David Stainton animator-brainfart projects that would've
otherwise wasted studio money before we heave-ho'ed him to the curb and
spit on him for 'Chicken Little'".

(Call me just *not* a "Lilo & Stitch" slavering Chris Sanders groupie at
heart, but judging from what we saw of "American Dog", would anyone
REALLY want to have seen Brian Griffin in a plaigiarized remake of
"Cars"?) 9_9

Why wait (to kick it, that is)?:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/independent/delgo/

[Obligatory third-party-CGI "Money-belch" can be found in Trailer 1.]

Would you have asked yourself that question when it was "P2", "Major
League 3", "The Real Cancun", or, to keep it on group topic, "All Dogs
Go to Heaven 2"?

(Remember, a big studio-budget money-loser comes from the people who DID
see the movie--
A low-grosser comes from the people who couldn't even be reasonably
bothered/persuaded to do *that*...)

Nash")

We probably already have one on rec.arts.animation. We'll be fine :-)

Haven't heard of American Dog until now. You know how I feel about
trailers.

"Plagiarized remake" is a redundant term, dude :-)

AHEM... trailers...

I mean, yeah, it's efficient (read: cheap and easy) to watch a trailer
and say, "Nah. I'll wait for the library loan," but I kinda wanted to
read what One Of Us thought of the film.

Heck, if you want cheap and easy, just predict what the animation
secular media thought of it. ("Blah blah not as good as Pixar",
"video game yakety schmackety"). I just want to know if it sucks less
than Kaena and Dragonlance.

Rugrat: Mommy? Is this like Romeo & Juliet or Star Wars?

[TRAILER BELCH]

Mommy: No.

Obviously, no :-)

But hey, I saw Nelson Shin's Labor of Love (Empress Chung) earlier
this year. Can't be worse than that. Besides, I hear the American
economy's in the crapper and independent Atlanta animators gotta eat
inbetween Adult swim projects.

Heh. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss. In my case, it was ignorance of
marketing. Call that what you will.

Well, if it were animated...

Terrence Briggs, saw Azur e Asmar instead of Delgo. It had to have
been better than Delgo.
Peace to you...
