I saw & enjoyed it last night. The mo-capping was good and animation
breathtaking at times. Jim Carrey made a
great Scrooge and I also liked his Ghosts of Xmas Past & Present. I
liked that Zemeckis stayed pretty close to
Dickens and also included some of the more creepier elements of the
story (like all the spirits floating around London after Marley's
ghost has visited Scrooge,The Children of Man who huddle under the
Ghost of Xmas Present's coat) that are rarely used in other versions.
I thought the scene where the Spirit of Xmas Present departs was
rather Tim Burton-esque.I also thought it was a accurate depiction of
1843 London as well.

There were some disappointments; I thought Bob Cratchit had a face
like a monkey and looked pretty scary to kids. I would have liked
Zemeckis to show the part where Scrooge & the Ghost of Xmas Past see
Annabelle a few years later when she's married.

But it was good. Many scenes looked truly breathtaking in 3D. I
particulary enjoyed the scene where the shrunken Scrooge is pursued
by the Ghost of Xmas Yet To Come and slides down the rooftop, hitting
icicles and
running on one.

Please feel free to put your comments regarding Disney/Zemeckis'
version of A CHRISTMAS CAROL here.
