DU>According to an article I saw in a _Comics Scene_ ish, the SWAT Kats
DU>series has been cancelled by Turner Entertainment.
That's weird, considering in the most recent Animation Magazine, there
is a full page ad for Swat Kats which actually says that there will be a
new season in 1995.
Here's the ad copy verbatim:
"WE CLAWED OUR WAY TO THE TOP
SWAT KATS: The Radical Squadron
Betcha never thought we'd be the #1 new syndicated animated show of
1994* But we are!
We made it against all odds.
And now we're gonna be kicking even more tail in 1995, with new
episodes, action figures, video games...the works!
*NTI/NSS w/o 8/30/93 w/e 4/17/94 (don't ask me...I dunno what that
means!)
Hanna-Barbera (tm)
We Are Cartoons! (tm)
A Turner Company"
Of course, this ad probably was prepared a long time in advance, but the
whole animation industry runs on such a slow clock that if H-B committed
to saying that in print, in a very expensive full-color ad, that they
probably already have the scripts done and at the very least 'boarded by
now for the next season.
Anyone reading this from H-B?
