I want to try my hand at keeping a marine, fish-only tank,
probably a 55g or so. The problem is, I'm having a terrible time finding
reference material of any kind. Nearly all the books I can find are for
freshwater setups. I don't know what is different from freshwater to marine,
but I'm sure at least some things may be different.

I have a 10g freshwater that has been running successfully since August,
so I'm not completely new to the hobby. If anyone could give me some
pointers as to good sources of information on keeping marine fish, I'd
really appreciate it. (I've already grabbed the FAQs from the archive
site, but they don't go into much detail on marine, unless I'm missing one.)

thanks,
trish

There is a FAQ on reefkeeping which has info that will be useful for a fish
only aquarium also.

Martin Moe's book "Marine Aquarium Manual- Beginner to Breeder" is a great
book. It may have been replaced in the hearts of reef keepers by the new
Sprung-Delbeek book, but for a fish only tank it is still probably the
best.
If my title is slightly off, the cover has a picture of a pair of clownfish
in a pink anemone.

If your dealer doesn't know about this book, then you need to find someone
else to deal with.
