I have never raised ghost shrimp before, so I'm a newbie with them.
About 2 weeks ago I noticed that a ghost shrimp in my community
aquarium was carrying eggs. Not wanting the eggs to get eaten by the
fish, I moved the shrimp into a seperate bowl. I then kept my eyes on
the shrimp and the eggs. The eggs went from being opaque grey over the
two weeks to clear last night where I though I could see the eyes of
the baby shrimp. Then this morning I noticed the momma wan't carrying
the eggs any more, but the bowl was empty except for her. I did keep
her well fed, but did she eat her eggs?? I noticed some things
swimming around about the size of baby brine shrimp, but since the eggs
were so much larger I though they were just some critters that were
living in the aquarium where I got the water to fill the bowl. Anyway
I put mamma back into the communtity aquarium, and dumped the water
(including the brine shrimp things) from the bowl into a seperate tank
that just has some snails living in it. So what happened?? Did mamma
eat the eggs, or were those teeny brine shrimp look-alikes actually the
offspring?

Ryan,

Yes, those were the baby Ghost Shrimp. Do beware though, the adults
will eat the babies if given a chance. Also, the babies love light and
will knock themselves dead on the glass trying to get to light, so the
best thing to try and do is keep them in a darkish area.
