I moved my 20gal fish and invert marine tank last week, the move
seems to have gone well so I thought I'd share my notes.

The tank had been up and running for approx 15 months.
When I started it, I put in a UGF. I used this move to
correct that mistake. Before the move, I had approx
20lb of live rock, a tomatoe clown and a bubble tip
amenome. The nitrate was 0, phosphate 0.15, sg 1.020.
The tank was suffering from a red slime infestation. The
bacteria took about a week to cover everthing in the tank.

I put 10 gallons of the tank water in jugs, wrapped the live
rock in paper towels, and bagged the fish. I discarded the
rest of the water, gravel and UGF plentum. The anemome was
attached to one of the rocks, so I left him attached and
placed the rock so he wouldn't get crushed.

At the new location, I filtered 10 gallons of water and
added salt to sg of 1.020. I scrubbed the tank, mechanical
filter, heater and power head with scotch bright to remove the
existing slime. I put the water from the old loction in
the tank first. Then I added the rocks. There is no gravel
or sand in the tank at present. I filled the tank the rest
of the way and got the filter running before I put the fish
in. I allowed the fish to aclimate as if he were new.

One week later, no slime yet, PHO4 0.15ppm nitrate 0, sg 1.022
78degrees F.
