A week ago I purchased a 3' PC Custom Sealife blub from
Beverly's Pet "Superstore". (They are located in Pembrook
Pines, FL). Three days later the bulb died. I called
the "Superstore" and spoke to Steve, the manager. He wouldn't
tell me his last name. I guess he doesn't want his name
attached to crappy service. He told me they don't give
refunds/exchanges on ANY electronic devices. He told me my
ballast was probably wired wrong or there was a "power spike".
I told him the ballast has been working for a year and it was
factory wired. I said I would be happy to bring it in so he can
examine it and while I was there, we could call the power
company to find out if they have had any power "spikes" in the
area. After a brief period of silent stupidity, he restated
they don't give refunds on electronic devices. I called the
nice folks at Custom Sealife and they said they would be happy
to exchange the bulb. I mailed the bulb to Custom Sealife and I
am now awaiting a replacement. I can't believe the "Superstore"
won't even honor the manafacturers warranty. I have been a long
time customer of Beverly's and have spent a lot of money there
but that was in the past.
