Lighting a Marine tank

Hi to anyone reading, I have a question about lighting I have on my
100gal. tank. I was wondering if using an actinic 03 is ok for fish
only? I have heard different things about this. My daylight 50/50 bulbs
are no longer anygood, so I have just been using the actinic. I really
appreciate the help and I'm sure my fish will to. By the way I have a
Niger Trigger and a Royal Gramma. Thanks again.

Sure, they're great, if you use them in conjunction with a daylight lamp
or two. Straight actinic will be too dark and too monochromatically blue
for aesthetics. : )

With nothing more then fish, or so you say, it doesn't really matter how you
light the tank. You could light it with bees wax candles if that stirred
your delight. You only really have to worry about lighting if your going to
keep corals, and then even your 03 isn't enough. If you only have fish, go
out and buy a couple of cool white tubes and save the bucks.
