trigger wants a piece of my tank scraper

I have a odonus niger and he has started taking exception to my tank
maintenance routine. He bumrushed the sponge-brillo thingy on the end of the
scraper. I don't know if or how hard he bit, but I read that they have sharp
red teeth. I also read that the niger trigger is one of the more peacable
triggers. What's with this fish suddenly being a tough guy? Mike.

There's no telling, but it may be that he has gradually come to regard the tank
as his territory and views the scraper as an intruder.

The Niger is indeed one of the more peaceable triggers, but that doesn't make
one benign.

If that's the only problem you have with this trigger, I would stay with the
status quo. They do have sharp teeth, and you may have to buy a few scrapers
over the years to come, but, as long as he's not attacking other inhabitants, I
would keep him.

Hey Georgie BOi, why do you not go the way of your Heroes Wayne and
