For peat's sake....peat in a submersible filter for aging...

I've read up on using peat to control Ph. Has anyone tried Fluval's
Peat pellets? I want to try them in a spare Fluval submersible filter
in my water aging 5 gallon bucket. I plan to run the filter w/peat
pellets for a few days and then replace the peat bag with a carbon bag
to filter the brown out.
