This morning I churned the sand in my freshwater aquarium. To my
surprise I found several tiny white worms wriggling in the water.
They are about 5 mm long. Looked like white thread, but very thin. Saw
a red-eyed tetra eating one of the worms. The substrate is less than
0.5 cm thick. Not planted. I would like to find out if these worms are
parasites and harmful to fishes. How do I get rid of these worms. Saw
one posting that these worms are caused by over-feedings. Are there
other opinions? I feed twice a day. Have gold fish, tetras and
guppies in the tank. Thanks.
