I have a different sort of problem...I recently moved my planted 26g to
a 40g. The tank is doing good, almost too good. I wanted only 2
species of plants; a red sword as center piece and java fern sprouts on
the wood and rocks. My problem is when I transferred the plants I also
transferred in bits of java moss. This stuff grows like crazy over wood
and rock, any attempts to pull it off results in breaking it into tiny
pieces which float around and eventually settle down to grow again. It
seems like an impossible task. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thanks,

Funny. I can never get it to grow. Aponogetons, crypts, all manner of
swords: fine. But try water sprite, java moss, elodea or any other "easy
to grow" plant in my hands and it just croaks.
