marine fish food for freshwater fish???

I have a lot of left over marine fish food, pellets, flakes . I only
keep fresh water fish now - bitope amazon stream, tetras, rams , otos.

Can i feed them the salt water fish food???

David,

I'd play it safe and not feed them marine fish food. Its like giving a
dog a slice of pizza. It won't kill him but its not good for him
either. Marine and freshwater fish come from different ecosystems, and
have different requirements as far as the type of nutrients and the
amounts needed.

Sure. As always, be aware of the different food requirements of
carnivores and herbivores, but otherwise there shouldn't be a problem.
(After all, the fish meal most 'freshwater' foods are based on is almost
always from marine fish, not to mention brine shrimp, krill, etc.) The
fundamental nutritional requirements of salt and freshwater fish are not
significantly different.
