Goldfish in a bowl

Hello,
is it possible to keep a goldfish or a similar, coloured fish in a relative
small glass bowl?
Obviously without harming, stressing or torturing the fish! I would like to
use the fishbowl for stilllife-painting. Does the spheric lense effect
really affect the fish? Does he need a place to hide? (Plants, boxes etc.?)
How can i clean the water without technical equipment? (Maybe with shells?)
Maybe I should use plastic fish? (difficult to keep them swimming under
surface)

You could put one in there for a few minutes and during that time take a
picture of it or something to use instead of leaving it in there all the
time.
