Hi:
I have recently built a 17' x 8' outdoor pond in my backyard. I am now
completing the coping using Tennessee jade fieldstone. I have six fish--
two comets, two fancy tails, and two standard orange/pink (?) goldfish.
I have two lilies, two water irises, and several aquatic plants. I also
have three algae eaters (Indian).

My pond is a 45 mil liner with a carpet pad underlayer. It holds about
2000 gallons and I have two 1200 gph pumps with two in-pond foam filters.
I'm building a waterfall in the next couple of weeks.

I know I need a biological filter, but they cost about $350, so that's an
item I'll get in the future.

I also live in Florida, so there's no chance of freezing.

Questions:
Any suggestions on algae control?
These fish love to eat! How often to feed?
Any good books on goldfish (outdoors)?
Any suggestions on additional fish to add? Species to avoid?
Any discount waterpond supply stores you know about (trying to get that
cost of a bio filter down)?
Any newsgroups/web sites on ponds/maintenance/tropical outdoor freshwater
fish?

Thanks much,
