My Pleco turned BLACK?!

IME, that means they're quite happy. I only begin to worry about mine when
they turn pale at all. If he's very active I wouldn't worry much about it
-- to be sure he's getting enough food, give him a slice of zucchini just
before you turn the lights out at night.

I agree with the previous poster. Your pleco was probaly stressed when
you bought him that`s why he was light. Do you feed him algea chips? You
should feed him while the other fish have a mouthful. Mine also likes
tubifex worms.

Yeah mine eats - the algae tabs 6 a night (he's about 7 inches long). He
also likes bloodworms, brine shrimp, cucumber, zucchini, & flake. I feed him
the algae tabs b4 the lights go out & they are gone every morning.
