I've been looking for some time for a place to buy nice art deco
furniture in Houston. I've been to most of the multiple-dealer malls and
many small shops, but it seems that deco furniture and especially dealers
who specialize in it are scarcer than hen's teeth. I would appreciate any
clues as to where to look for these rare antiques locally.
Also, what are y'all's thoughts on "warped" furniture? I've done a small
bit of finish restoration (not on anything worth a lot of money that
should be left alone like they say on Antiques Roadshow! ;) but am not
very familiar with what's involved in getting a warped drawer or cabinet
door to fit right in its slot. Should I even attempt doing it myself,
or should I just let a professional do it? Or should I simply avoid
pieces with such problems? Thanks in advance for your advice.
