The "book price" does not mean that this is what you could expect to
sell it for, unless it is a really "hot" selling item (which I doubt is
the case with a stove). IMO
I would guess you might get $600-800.00 again IMO.
Good Luck

In downtown LA ... several thousand dollars. However, subtract
the cost of packing and shipping to downtown LA from that if you
are located anywhere else.
They are heavy and hard to ship.

I think you should stay around. With your sense of humor you would fit
right in with this group.

Your forte is antiques, my forte is the Internet -that is how I earn my
living. I am an Internet software developer. Both positions carry burdons.
You assume people are RUDE because they ask an appraisal question (as if
they are asking YOU personally) and I assume people are RUDE when they
swear or say vile things to me or others directly while under cover of the
anonymity of the Internet.
Many times people with no power in their real life will treat strangers in a
less than civil manner when they are anonymous. I am not saying that this
is your problem but it is something that you may wish to think about. The
rule of thumb while surfing the Internet is to not buy into that horrid
"anonymous attitude". It is hard but ask yourself if you treat strangers as
you treat your neighbors face to face and I think you will have an answer.
My livelihood, the Internet, is a free flowing environment for information
and yes, even your language and attitude. When you turn on your machine and
hook up, you are a visitor to the world environment. We fight to retain a
freedom that has survived all these years. Though each person has the right
to do or say anything they wish in the arena of that freedom, we hope that
each person recognizes that just like you, the person you are addressing has
rights too. They have the right to ask a question or not ask a question and
you have a right to answer it or not.
Yes I understand why you would not want to take responsibility for the
bottom line on the things you do but that must be confronted if someone
misleads an innocent person. It is like kicking someone and saying they are
responsible for the pain because they where in front of your foot.
This being the last I wish to say on this subject, let me close by stating
that you assumed that I or others think that a question will be answered by
a professional estimator/appraisor...I can't speak for everyone but as for
myself, I merely asked the question in a logical place...an antique forum!
I had no idea who was here or who would answer. There are many pleasant
people who participate here and that makes this a worthy forum.
My suggestion to you: Do something nice for strangers once a day, it is
much more constructive and fullfilling.
I wish you a pleasant day!
