As a non specialist in this Silver area can anyone throw light
on a silver mark on an apparently late 18xx to early 19xx pair
od salad servers - country of origin unknown, but not a UK
mark.

it is
WH in a round form
then & in a shield form
then S in an oval

this is followed by what seems to be a B in an offset oval
Then a complex B or crown like mark in a square form.

The final mark is an MP above an A in what would best be
described as an approximately an inverted Fleur de Lis shape.

Any help appreciated

Clive.

Suggested links to American and non UK European Hallmark
illustration sites would be appreciated too

Hi there, the mark is William Hutton & Sons, one of the leading
English silversmiths, who also made plate and pewter items.
Identification is from EPNS Maker's Marks by George Mappin p127, which
illustrates the mark exactly as you describe.
