I'm finally on a return to work scheme. During my recent time at home I
put together some junk to get rid of at a local auction which ran
yesterday.
My Victorian drop end sofa for re-upholstery got NOTHING...........a
50p/$1 oil painting got 20 ukp.
I also put in a Viccy marble carving of the Constantine Arch which I've
been using as a door stop. It was broken and needed extra glueing the
night before the auction. I was hoping for 10-15ukp ($20-ish). I rang
for the prices last night....and it made 200 ukp!!!
There's still some fun in the junk game,
Regards
Jon
Hi, Jon!
It's good to see that "fun" comment. Yes, there's lots of fun left.
Keep reporting!

Hey! GOOD job! It's been too cold here (still!) for yard sales....
but maybe this weekend. I was in Houston on Friday, but didn't
have a chance to prowl there.

Hi mate, I'm just getting back into some form of reality...I think you
understand 8))
The pen sale of Proudmari was great......like my Constantine
Arch.......Ronnie, if you are there, I bought an astral glazed Georgian
corner cabinet with the proceeds......my darling Elaine says "BUT we
don't NEED anymore STUFF!!!!"
I have to say that Fatman (17thC damaged figure of Hotai) came back to
me from Singapore (don't ask) and finally got 150UKP/$275 at the local
auction last week.
As in the Constantine arch and Mari's pen, check out the Xigman's
latest on eBay....didn't cost a fortune, to say the least (wink, wink),
BUT I do not want or need RA members bids, thanks.
I even sorted my shed out for a while and found a brass "arts and
crafts" tray with an early price sticker of 10 pounds, 12 shillings and
6 pence (before our money changed)......a fortune, even in the 50's!
Cheers to all old friends
Jon
