Does anyone know anything about Cumbow Pottery? I think it is from
Abington, VA, but don't know much else. I have a pitcher I am wondering
about the value of. Thanks.

Ed and Lucy,

The Cumbow China Co. of Abingdon VA was a china decorating
company that operated for 47 years. They did not manufacture
china but decorated pieces produced by other potteries.

Cumbow was founded on 1932 by Mabel and Jacob Ruskin. Jacob
passed away on 1938 and Mabel in 1980. They decorated dozens of
different china patterns on numerous body styles.
Almose 100 decoratoes were employed over the years. Different
pieces would command different prices so without knowing what you
have it would be diffucult to help with price.

Generally, however, Cumbow is moderately collectible and not
particularly expensive.

Best wishes,
