I found this child's play set <a

Tea Set</a>
in a home that was being torn down. Can anybody tell me approximately
how old this thing is? I'd appreciate any information that can be
provided.
Thanks,
Charlie
Ohio Art (maker of the etch-a-sketch) made several tin tea sets for Disney in
the late 1930's. They do a pretty good trade on ebay, but I did not see one
like yours that is currently up for auction. Kovel's lists a set with Horace,
Clarabelle, Mickey, Minnie - Made of Tin from Ohio Art in 1937. I am sure there
are many Disney Collector's pages out there on the web, and maybe Ohio Art has
something too. Try a search and see if you can find a similar item! Good
Luck.

(*<~ What does Clarabelle have to do with Disney? I thought that
Clarabelle was Buffalo Bob and Howdy's good buddy...........

True Doug, but few know the whole story. Her affair with Goofy was swept
under the rug by the big guns at Disney who were just putting the finishing
touch to their own program "The Mickey Mouse show". They were worried that
Goofy's insatiable appetite for " bit's of bovine" would ruin their squeaky
clean image for the show and they forced Goofy to break off the affair by
threatening to publish incriminating photo's of him, pluto and the four of
the seven dwarves.

Hey Mike, was that before Clarabelle Cow made her début appearance in the
1930 Walt Disney comic strip story, "Mickey Mouse in Death Valley" ??

... just good friends
No, much later, circa 1954 I believe. Clarabelle was feeling a bit "long in the
tooth" and a dashing sweet talker like Goofy was said to have made her feel like
a "Spring heifer" again ;~))

Thanks for the information. I actually did find one (1) of the 'Helpmates'
plates up for sale on eBay, it is currently at $9.99. (Item# 582290566).
It is in worse shape than the worst of my pieces. I'm waiting to see what
happens with that before I list my set.
Tanks to the rest of you for the good humor.
