Early English water colors

Now I need some information please.
Today I purchased 2 early full length water color portraits. They are
aprox. 8 1/2 x 11" . In nice early birds eye maple frames. I have examined
them under 5 power mgnification & the appear to be hand done. one is
signed on the front, ( first characters illegible ) secnd name HUNT 1860.
Printed in block letters in pencil. When I got them home I took them apart
& found a lable on the back of each portrait in early prin that says:
HUNT'S Newly Invented Portrait & Profile Machine, 104 St James Street,
Three doors above German place, Brighton, Patronized by the nobility & the
gentry.
Am I to assume that these are some how mechanicaly produced ? or is this
just an advertisement for a pantogragh machine or the like ? I handle many
early items & I do believe these to be of the period.. any information
will be appreciated.
