I just bought my first yesterday. It is a nice art deco shaped
dog, made of chrome, made by Art Metal Works, 1935. Along the
snout is a slot along which the 'strike' is made with the wick
gizmo that pulls out of the head. Was there a replaceable flint
of some kind which fit into the slot? If so, where can I get one?
The slot on mine is empty.
