Can anyone gave me advice on how to fix a broken band switch on a zenith 8H034 where the knob goes on the switch?

Is the shaft stripped?

Can you supply a photo so folks here will know *exactly* what the
problem is?

Half of the shaft is broken off where the knob goes on.

Unfortunately that does not leave much 'meat' to carry the torque that rotary switches have to carry. The best thing to do would be to replace the shaft with one from a similar switch. Do you still have the 'splined' knob that fits that split shaft? If you have to replace the knob too, then consider a set screw type that works with a solid shaft as that would be far more durable than those flimsey split aluminum ones.

Do you have the knob and the broken off stub? This is important.
