Several of the adjustments on the Zenith 3000-1 are
nested slugs. In order to access these from the back of the
receiver an extra-long undercut hex tool is necessary. I can
find none currently made. The Photofact manual gives the
following numbers for a suitable tool:
General Cement #9269, 9297, 9300
Walsco #2510, 2546, 2547
I was also able to use a borrowed General Cement #9205
There may be others.
I can make the adjustments from the front but that
requires removing the chassis from the case each time. This
is both a PITA and I think may lead to mis-adjustments.
Does anyone either have one of these they are willing
to part with or know of a source for a suitable tool? If
you have one please contact me off list. You will get a
challenge message from my spam blocker but I will see the
message and unblock you.
Also, what tools have people found successful for the
FM slugs?

This is what I use. The bottom part of the yellow and red tool slips
through the top slug down to the lower slug. The slender shaft spins with
in the upper slug.

You have to sufficiently loosen the slugs first.

The yellow one looks like it might be long enough, providing its
the right size. The distance between the slugs is quite long. None of
the standard alignment tools I have will reach enough even if I take
the top slug out.
