No, I didn't buy them all...wish I could though! A local flea market here
purchased the estate of a man who collected every kind of glass, bottle,
insulator, fruit jar, you name it, known to man. I would say from what I
saw, it was more an obsession than a hobby! The flea market has at least 150
big full boxes there right now, and they are still due to pick up at least
100-150 boxes more in the next week. I went there today and picked up a
handful, but I wanted to do some research before I went back tomorrow and
got a lot more. I normally collect ACL's but didn't come across hardly any
today, but the flea market owner said he believes most of those are still at
the house of the late collector. However......I came across literally
hundreds of antique medicine and cure bottles. So what I need to know is,
what should I look for with the medicine bottles? I've browsed through the
higher selling ones on e-bay and see that bottles with the druggist name
and address go for a nice penny, and pine tar, and the colorful ones are
desirable and I know I saw a few of those today. What are also highly
collectible medicine or cure bottles to look for? I had a blue Ayer's Hair
Vigor in my hand and put it back because it had a slight chip on the base,
but I think I'm going to get that one tomorrow.(Oh, and I also saw several
straight edged coke bottles and I had one to buy today, but it had a big
crack in it, so I put it back since I'm going to dig for another one
tomorrow)

I'm like a kid in a candy store that doesn't know what to eat first, so any
advice? And BTW, he'll sell them to me between 50 cents and 1 dollar each,
so if I judge wisely when picking, I shouldn't make out too bad. Seems like
the only ones he's putting in the store are the Ball and Mason Jars. One
final question, I found a Grapette sized little bottle today I bought that
said "Silver Nip" from Florida. It appears to be a 1940-50 circa soda pop.
Has anyone here heard of this brand or an Old Uncle Tom Gin circa late
1800's to early 1900s? I've search-engined my tail off and can't find any
info on either of those brands. As usual....all help would be intensely
appreciated!

Hey DPK your correct in saying COLOR, but some words are also key.
Catyrah(cattarah),balsam,BITTERS,annointment,CURE,invigorator,Ague,Syrup,Balsam,Elixir,Tonic.....The
Old Uncle Tom Gin is pretty common and not worth a lot, know nothing
about the soda. it would be advisable to carry a book or 2 and make a
list and check them off to the side somewhere.
Hope you find a bargain sounds like a good chance you will if these
folk don't have the time to do a lot of research....YOROB :)
