Founded by Michael Faulkner in the mid-1990s, D-Fuse is a group of London based artists who explore a range of creative media. Working in a trans-disciplinary method with all aspects of live cinema, D-Fuse encourage their audience to reflect on the process of experiencing art in a multi-dimensional, multi-sensory way with emphasis on the key relationship between sound + image.
D-Fuse collaborates with a wide variety of musicians, from electronic artists Scanner and Leftfield to contemporary classical composers Steve Reich and the Italian ensemble Alter Ego. D-Fuse visual art is screened internationally –at Sonar (Barcelona), onedotzero festivals (London), Nokia Labs (St. Petersburg and Moscow), Mori Arts Centre (Tokyo), Eyebeam (New York), and the San Franciso Museum Modern Art.
Their commercial clients include Nike, Universal, Nokia, Sony, Apple, Diesel, and BMW.
Many of their projects blur the boundaries between art and commerce, such as D-Fuse’s recent collaboration with Grammy Award Winner Beck to create both the groundbreaking ‘Guero’ DVD audio/DVD video and his worldwide tour during which D-Fuse created a unique live music mix for each show.
For the Jakarta Creative City project, D-Fuse will create a Video-Mapping Projection that will be projected onto the facade of the Jakarta History Museum at Jakarta Old Town on 13 March 2010. D-Fuse is collaborating with Indonesian filmmakers, Sakti Parantean (Fictionary Films) and Adi Panuntun (Sembilan Matahari Films), photographer Feri Latief (National Geographic Indonesia freelancer) and writer Taqarrabie on this project.
