I just wanted to keep you all updated on our August numbers, as we continue to wait for funding news from the state.
The short version is we've been
above our minimum deliverables for the grant for both July and August. Great news! (We couldn't be doing that without the time and energy of dedicated volunteers and I'm incredibly grateful for everyone's continued commitment to the program!)
Our numbers for August were:
114 volunteer hours (66 minimum needed for deliverables)
768 lbs of material diverted (750 min for deliverables based on number of items X average weight of 15lbs/item)
144 # of items diverted (50 minimum for deliverables)
Some of these numbers don't have both represented (we only had item numbers or weight, not both) so extrapolating out both numbers with 15lbs as the average weight of 1 item (average based on electronics and appliances) we get updated numbers of: (I removed some numbers where I was sure the items diverted did not weigh at least 15 lbs)
2,158 lbs of material diverted
181 # of items diverted
Additionally, I'm estimating we diverted and sold about 170 electronics cords during the month of August, but we do not have a count from the end of the month, so these numbers are likely a bit conservative.
We worked with 6 separate organizations this month as well as a few individuals/artists.
Thank you!
