Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know about Rebuilding Together's projects this
semester. We are looking for volunteers to help us renovate 2 houses that are
in great need of repair.

Here's some info on the program:

Rebuilding Together is one of the largest community service organizations on
the Penn campus. We recruit over 400 volunteers every spring to rebuild
houses in West Philadelphia. Our mission is to prevent homelessness by
partnering with the community to rehabilitate the homes of elderly,
disabled, and low income homeowners so that they may continue to live in
warmth, safety, and independence. The focus of our efforts is our spring
building drive which you have expressed interest in.

We'll be going out and renovating houses in West Philadelphia neighborhoods.
This year, the houses that we have been assigned to are conveniently located on
the same block. The impact of our work goes beyond the physical repairs -- we
build relationships with the home owners as well. It's also a great way to bond
with students from the undergraduate, graduate, and professional schools, as we
will all be working alongside each other.

How you can get involved:

Volunteer at a house – (no experience required) We will be working at the
Rebuilding Together houses on Saturdays and Sundays from March 17th to April
8th. Each Saturday/Sunday we'll take you in vans to the house around 9 AM.
We provide the supplies and training on the job. We'll give you pizza for
lunch and then bring you back around 3:30. So come by yourself or bring some
friends along. Come once or come a few times...it's up to you. It'll be FUN!
You'll be painting, dry walling, etc.

If you are involved in other groups that might be interested in participating on
one of these days, please forward this email to them.

So, now you know the deal. Please let me know if you would like to volunteer,
and which date(s) you are available. This is a great opportunity to make a
tangible difference in these deserving homeowners' lives.

Also, let me know if you have any questions.

Thank you!
Alex Milin
