A major part of trust in the state, is trust in its police. The IPCC
is far from independent, as most who have tried to use it know. How
much support do we have here for a truly independent police complaints
process?

I don't trust the police or any independent complaints process.

The main problem is when things go wrong they are covered up, nearly
all the time. Also there can be some quite extreme consequences for
people who do complain, which by their nature are very hard to prove.
A real independent complaints process would help.
