Building Colorado’s Clean Economy: Clean Energy, Sustainability and
Our Public Schools- a Panel Discussion.
The Rockies Chapter of the Clean Economy Network, based out of
Washington, DC is hosting a night of discussion surrounding the past,
present and future condition of our public school facilities in
Colorado.
We will be discussing current efforts to improve the energy efficiency
and sustainable green building practices of our current K-12 schools
and innovations proposed for our public school system’s transportation
infrastructure, promoting best practices based on research and long-
term studies, and debating what is the best way forward in terms of
funding these initiatives. Our goal is to share ideas with the public
about sustainability efforts currently being pursued in your school
community, and encouraging you, your legislators and your school
districts to do more.
We will also be talking about the recent State of Colorado, Department
of Education study (Completed by Parsons Corporation) that was
released in early March detailing their findings on the condition of
8,419 facilities in 178 School Districts including potential options
on what the future should hold for our children's educational
campuses.
